http://www.fas.org/blog/ssp/2006/11/new_article_where_the_bombs_ar.php <--fascinating article on US nukes

I'm surprised a topic about these weapons doesn't exist.

What do we do with our nukes?

Though I'm a huge proponent of nuclear power (I'm biased though; my brother is in the profession), I am no fan of nukes.

I'd like to keep them as an option. I'd prefer it if we never had to use them or any other weapons for that matter but, if we are attacked by Nuclear Weapons from a country like North Korea, I'm glad that we still have some of ours.

Nuclear weapons have not been an option since WW2 and they never will. Their purpose at this point is deterrent only.

im a supporter of peaceful uses for nuclear technology. nuclear power i feel needs to be more widely accepted, especially in australia. i think it is a good alternative to coal while we look for even 'greener' sources of energy

indiscriminite murder and destruction sickens me so i say all nuclear weaponry should be destroyed.

nuclear power is to expensive and potentially destructive to be used as a placeholder until greener tech is put in place so i pass on that as well.

I bet if we severely cut our massive nuclear arsenal we would show the world that we are prepared to practice what we preach.

Who needs ten thousand nukes? Seriously. We need to lead by example.
