I think a lot of people associate Alternative Rock with like, mid 90's stuff, but couldn't it also apply to modern day stuff, like The Arcade Fire and Saves The Day and whatnot?

I don't know, I'm just throwing it out there.

I'd say Saves the Day would be pop-punk, though.

Yeah, but this is in terms of guitar shizzle dizzle. I love TCATS, but it's not that ridiculous for guitar influence.

The New Pornographers are power-pop, but I suppose you could refer to them as alternative.
