Ok, so with the expansion of the forums into these separate genre forums, we need more moderators here at AbsolutePunk.net. This is how it's gonna work: we have 9 new forums (Punk, Emo, Rock, Alternative, Acoustic, Pop, Electronic/Dance, Hardcore, and General Music), so we need 9 new mods. To apply, give a brief few sentences on why you want to be a mod and why do you want to be a mod of this specific genre forum (if you like hardcore, apply for hardcore, not pop). We want mods who won't be dicks for no reason and will contribute positivity and good discussion in their specific forum, as well as the other forums. I will be taking "applications" until next Tuesday (4/18). Then, the AP.net staff will vote and select the 9 new mods. So good luck!
This thread is to specifically apply to be the Rock Forum moderator. Please post your applications here.
FAQs:
1. You will only have mod power for your specific forum. We are not looking for any new General Forum mods.
2. You can apply for more than one forum to moderate, but you will only get one of the forums to mod.
3. Please do not PM me your applications, please post them in the application thread in the forum you want to moderate.
Thanks, hope this clears up any confusion.

I think I'd make a good mod - I don't spend 24/7 here, but I generally spend at least 30 minutes to an hour on AP.net, which is more than enough time to sift through the new posts in a smaller forum such as this for anything inappropriate or anything that's in the wrong place.
I've been a consistent poster here for about 3 years and generally stay out of the drama that happens in cycles around here - my only involvement is usually after the fact when I'm asking "What the hell happened this time?"
Uhh yeah, that's about it. I applied for the "rock" forum because I listen to a wide range of music, and didn't want my possible "mod responsibilites" to be confined to reading the same thing over and over again - like reading about The Unseen and The Casualties being sooooo hardcore PUNX in the Punk forum.
I'd like to be a mod for the rock forum. I've been here long enough(approx.3 and a half years), and I am around quite a lot. I have enjoyed rock music all my life, before listening to any "punk, emo, etc" there was always rock for me. I would keep things in order, and make sure everything runs smoothly. I've never been involved with any sort of forum fights, and don't plan on it. So there it is, I think I would be a pretty damn good rock mod.

I would love to Mod for the AbsolutePunk Forums. As of late I find I spend alot of time here in the forums. At first I was kind of childish and somewhat immature, posting around ignorant comments, cutting down other bands and what not. But as of late I have definately cleaned up my act, becoming very good at reading other peoples opinions and taking them into consideration. The Rock Forum would definately be a great place for myself to moderate seeing as that I love a majority of rock and its sub-genres (ie. Indie Rock, Brit Rock, Classic Rock, Jam Rock). I like to say I know alot about alot, but I certainly do not know everything. But this plays to my advantage, because a moderator needs to be susceptible to learning new things from other forum users rather than using this job to fuel his or her ego. If I am selected to moderate the Rock Forum, I will make it a great stop in the AP.net forums, where discussion about the genre spark intellignet conversation between forum users, while keeping everything in order. Even Slade would use proper table manners, that has to be worth something. But we know everyone is applying for these jobs just to get a sweet green username.
Thanks,
Justin.

I think I would make a pretty good mod for the Rock forums because it was Classic Rock that got me into listening to some of the stuff I listen to today. I was a heavily rap oriented kid in grammar school but once my dad showed me some good Classic Rock, my whole taste in music changed. My favorite band even right now is Van Halen. Plus, I am always visiting Absolutepunk, everyday. Nobody has any problems with me and I try to make positive contributions to whatever posts I take part in. I think I would be able to be disciplined enough to become a Moderator for the Rock forum and if I get the chance to do so, I'll try to be the best Moderator I could be.

I would like to be a mod for this forum. I would be good because I am completely unbiased towards people. I do not judge people for their taste in music, nor do I bash anyone on this forum or any forum for that matter. I feel that mutual respect is a necessity on forums, and it is lacking. I am online 90% of the day reading this forum anyway, so It would be good for me to put my time to some use (and I have a lot of it). I don't feel that anyone here is a "snob." There are some elitists, which I do not partake in nor agree with or support in any fashion, but unless they break a forum rule, I'm not going to jump in and stir things up.
I've been around here for awhile and I know how things work on this forum and in the industry. I know I would be a valuable asset to this website.

I should be a moderator. I'm pretty much on here all the time and have becoming her consistently for two years and I pretty much rule.
