Lyrics to "Ressurection Fern"
Help fill in the blanks?
in our days we will live like our ghosts will live
pitching glass at the cornfield crows and folding clothes
like stubborn boys across the road we'll keep everything
grandma's gun and and the black bear claw that took her dog
when sister ( ) we won't hear anything
( ) to take that word that fledgling bird
and the fallen house across the way it'll keep everything
the baby's breath, our bravery wasted and our shame
and we'll undress beside the ashes of the fire
both our tender bellies wound in baling wire
( ) a pair of underwater pearls
than the oak tree and his resurrection fern
in our days we will say what our ghosts will say
we gave the world ( ) and what we get
and like stubborn boys with big green eyes, is he everything?
and the ( ) shade of the autumn leaves and the buzzard's wing
and we'll undress beside the ashes of the fire
both our tender bellies all wound around in baling wire
( ) a pair of underwater pearls
than the oak tree and his resurrection fern

Stylus Magazine wrote an interesting piece on the combination of "Sodom, South Georgia" and "Passing Afternoon" here (http://www.stylusmagazine.com/articles/seconds/iron-wine-sodom-south-georgia-passing-afternoon.htm). I'm not usually a huge fan of Stylus, but I think they did a pretty good job with this one.

I think I heard somewhere that Bonnie "Prince" Billy and Iron & Wine were going to do a collaboration or they have or something. I'm probably completely wrong, but it would be awesome.

Will Oldham is better! Eh, they're different. I love 'em both.
sam beam is my favorite acoustic guitar player in the world. i freaking love the man, and his gigantic beard makes everything that much better. seriously good music, and the guy just has a great personality.
Hi
First time I've been arsed to use this forum...am trying to avoid getting sucked into the forum habit. Just wanted to say that I'm just not convinced by Iron and Wine...I have a couple of their CD's but just think their cover of Postal Service's Such Great Heights track is wrong and somehow has managed to make it onto an AOL ad and the Garden State soundtrack (which is an awesome film)...Jeff Caudill does a better cover of it.
