the reason prob is that "indie" as a genre describes so many different kinds of music now that the general music fourm prob covers it

Yeah, but, indie rock does fit into alternative rock. It works, and an indie forum isn't really all that necessary.

What was Indie considered in the 90's? Alternative. Indie is just a popular term used now. No one says alternative anymore. If Interpole got big in '95 or '96, they definitely would have fell under alternative.

i like the new forums. at first i thought i was going to be too ADD for them, but i really like that people come to the music forums to discuss music, and they're usually not super busy so it's not hard to catch up/threads aren't lost on the fourth page by the time i go to work and come back.

that being said, everyone should stop complaining about what genres are and are not included. general music forum = everything else, and most indie can be put into another category as well.
