So I am getting my new amp this week: http://www.kometamps.com/concorde.html
and am looking for solid body electrics to use with it.
These are the guitars I am currently looking at:
-Gibson Firebird (nonreverse 3 mini humbuckers) http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/-Firebird-NonReverse-with-3-Mini-Humbucker-Pickups?sku=517867
and
-Fender Jaguar Classic : http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Fender-Classic-Jaguar-Special-HH-Electric-Guitar?sku=518749
Any other suggestions?

What guitars you currently own (if any), and what kind of music do you play?

Hard to go wrong with a good Fender Strat/Tele...

I would compare our range of sound being from Modest Mouse to At the Drive In. I currently play a Gibson Les Paul standard.

I think that Jaguar would be perfect. Do you know about how those electronics are set up? With what was originally the (useless) rhythm circuit, you can blend between humbucker and single coil. The "Classic Player" series is really well-built, and they fixed all the little problems with the original 60's models, like replacing the bridge. You might want to upgrade the pickups, but other than that, I can't think of anything that could be better about that guitar.

That Firebird looks awesome, but 2 grand is pretty steep...

Exactly. At that point, I am paying for cosmetics, which are not at all important to me.
Thanks for the words of advice man! I'll be playing the classic after work and will let you know what I think.
This guitar is going to sound gorgeous on my amp.
