Wanna Be A Mod?

Ok, so with the expansion of the forums into these separate genre forums, we need more moderators here at AbsolutePunk.net. This is how it's gonna work: we have 9 new forums (Punk, Emo, Rock, Alternative, Acoustic, Pop, Electronic/Dance, Hardcore, and General Music), so we need 9 new mods. To apply, give a brief few sentences on why you want to be a mod and why do you want to be a mod of this specific genre forum (if you like hardcore, apply for hardcore, not pop). We want mods who won't be dicks for no reason and will contribute positivity and good discussion in their specific forum, as well as the other forums. I will be taking "applications" until next Tuesday (4/18). Then, the AP.net staff will vote and select the 9 new mods. So good luck!

FAQs:
1. You will only have mod power for your specific forum. We are not looking for any new General Forum mods.
2. You can apply for more than one forum to moderate, but you will only get one of the forums to mod.
3. Please do not PM me your applications, please post them in the application thread in the forum you want to moderate.

I'd like to moderate because forums need moderation, and I know how handle things and be fair. This will be especially true in a forum like this, because hip-hop isn't always, umm, "well received" on AP. As for why i want to moderate this forum in particular, I just love hip-hop. Lots of people on here know that, but it needs to be said in this case. When hip-hop's done right, it's as good as anything out there right now. We have a number of members on here who have great taste in this music, so I'd also like to try to rally them all in here to make this forum great.

I'm a huge hip-hop head and i'm always looking for new groups that are below the radar. I can definitely be a great addition to the team based because I've always wanted to be a part of the ap.net staff whether it's doing this or hooking up the wikipedia entry. I also have experience moderating on other sites such as Matchbook Romance's Messageboard.

I'm interested in moderating the Hip Hop subforum. I haven't been around as some of the other applicants (to this subforum), but I've been around long enough to understand what kind of community this is, what kind of members there are here, and how this are expected to be run. I'm an easy going character, but a hardass when I have to be. I've owned a few of the forums (of my own) in the past and moderated a number of other forums. I have an extensive background on a number of forum software (from Invision to vBulletin).

The reason why I chose the subforum Hip Hop oppose to any of the other forums is because I feel that I am more knowledgeable on the subject then the others. While a fan of a number of genres of music; you'll find me talking/list about/to Hip Hop more then the other genres. I've noticed that there is a large "U" scale determining the amount of fans of the Hip Hop scene; either they like it or don't. There are only a few people who are in the "so-so" section. I'll attempt to shed new light on the people who despise the Hip Hop scene. I'll contribute a number of discussions, artists profiles, reviews, and a fun atmosphere for the Hip Hop genre.

I think I would make a great addition to the staff. I've been around, but not long enough to be part of cliques. No one really knows me nor hates me. As of right now, I have no "beef" against anyone and no one has any beef against me (not to my knowledge anyways).

Rick is obviously the most qualified but Rick doesn't run things like a dictatorship, the hiphop subform will be open to everyone's input unlike others sports for instances
