I got a very Mae-ish (Everglow era) vibe from the single.

He sounds like a bit of a poppier Ben Gibbard (or however you spell that dudes last name) on the new single. But yeah, I like it... been waiting a long time for the new album :D

im actually much more excited about this than i ever was about five score even. i've been a fan of them forever, and this no less. they're so underrated. they consistently put out good music every couple of years, what more can you ask from a band?

Yeh the cover art is insane. For a painting.

I heard that there's supposed to be an all electronic song, which worries me, but I'm sure they'll craft it into a great pop song. All in all, I expect a great, fun album, perhaps my favorite pop release of the year. If only we had it at the start of summer, rather than here at the end.

Let's just say it's one of the few times this year I've heard a single that pumped me up for the full release as much as this. These guys never let me down. When you guys heard this, did you instantly picture a beautiful day, the windows rolled down, and not a care in the world? I did.

Worries me too. But this band is so good I'm sure it won't be too bad...
The rest of the album will be fantastic though. Guaranteed.

Loved the Birds and the B-Sides collection, but they didn't completely click with me. The new one sounds like i can come back for more. Let's see if they've got fan this time around.

Actually based on the title track, I am kind of hoping for a pop record that sort of jives with the fall season. I mean Relient K will always have the summer appeal, but maybe this will be their Coming Home. In any case, I always look forward to whatever these guys have to offer.

To be honest, Coming Home sounds like a summer album, too; an end of summer album, like that you'd listen to your last day and/or night before school with friends, but a summer album nonetheless. We'll see, though.

Agreed. I think of death cab's transatlanticsm cd when I think of fall. That kind of vibe.

I have no clue, I was just looking on the first post and it seems like alot of filler!

I'd like to think that Relient K are musically mature enough to make them feed into the main songs in a fitting fashion, thus hopefully rendering them a beneficial addition to . But we'll see.

I really like that shirt, but I'm not too sure if it's worth an extra $21.96 or not. I guess it does come with that poster, though.

First of all, still don't believe the album art is a painting, it's amazing.

Second of all, the single just blew me away! This is going to be an absolutely incredible album, I can feel it!

I hope the interludes are good. Some albums have interludes that just bore me or piss me off but some have ones that I love almost as much as the songs. I hope these work well with the songs and add something to the album.

3.98 for shipping is ridiculously cheap for a preorder. Frickin Brand New's preorder was like $8 or 9.

Bump because of the review being posted on the front page. I think this is the last album I'm really looking forward to this year. Based on what I've heard about the album thus far, as well as the first single, this is going to be great.

Hmm, I hope not, but I doubt it. Matt said that they used all real instruments on this record.

Thiessen says, “A lot of bands use MIDI and synthesizers – fake instruments. We have too. But on this record, everything you hear is really played. It’s organic. I know a lot of bands do that now. But for us, it was really the first time we made it the real thing.”

Yeah, I saw that, which relieved me... That person who said there was an electronic song must have been lying.

Mmhmm was/is one of my very favorite albums. I still keep coming back to it again and again, years later. If this is truly better, as the reviews imply, I can't imagine this not being my AOTY. Such a fucking great band (despite the shittiness of Five Score).
