Pandas' new album ('Poetics') is set to be released soon, after much delay. Anyone know the exact date? Their latest single 'Solo a Terceros' is pretty good. I like it. What do you think? Who's your fav member? I LOVE Cita en el Quirofano. What's yout fav song? :)

New Panda sucks...it's become the latin definition of emo. I liked their earlier pop-punk style better. I hope "Poetics" will sound a little less like Amantes sunt Amentes, and something newer instead of being emo translated into spanish...

Have you guys ever listened to a song called Elegy by Inspection 12? You should listen to it (pay special attention at the part that starts at 3:40). Then listen to "Mi Huracan Llevaba Tu Nombre" by Panda. You'll find something really cool.

Delux are pretty good. Allison have some good tunes like 83/87, but then they have some awful ones like Memorama.

Considering that I live in a latin country, I get to listen to many emo bands in spanish. Hell, I even played in one, but I feel like Panda only changed when they saw the rise of the emo movement, I mean, listen to their first album, and now listen to their new single, despite vocals, no one would ever guess it's the same band. Nevertheless I enjoy Panda for what they are, a good "emo" or "scene" band. Para Ti Con Desprecio was great while it lasted, but now it just became a naucense as it was EVERYWHERE. Even the underground scene where I'd play would play "Narcisista Por Exelencia" covers all the time, and ONLY that song.

Actually, it's not from Panda. Just Pepe sings in it. It's found on a children CD that I actually have because I gave it for a birthday to my sister.

Panda changed because they needed a wider audience, they needed to stop doing the "bullshit" they were playing and get into radio stations to get bigger. I'm not criticizing their pre-Para ti con desprecio-era. Actually, I prefer that era. They had to make a progress in the work they had made and grow, mature.

The problem with this change is that they started to be recognized by other people and their plagiarism started getting out, a lot of people didn't like this idea nor the fact that they grew big and big to the point of filling the Palacio de los Deportes of Mexico, two times. There it started the AntiPanda movement and I think that with this movement a lot of new generations don't give the chance to the new Panda nor the old Panda. They stay with the idea that they are just copying songs for the money.

If you're looking for great mexican bands, you should hear Division Minuscula and maybe Tolidos. Last CD from Division Minuscula is greatly influenced by The Gaslight Anthem.

Division Minuscula is NICER DICER man, but I really doubt they were influenced by The Gaslight Anthem. It was more like they shared the same influences, for example Tom Petty and Bruce Springsteen. Anyway it's still a great album.

Hahaha, are you serious? The first time I heard it on the TV I thought it sounded like a Timbiriche song, but even then what really made me hate the song were the lyrics. Especially this one: "Triste es de pronto ver tu myspace, y ver que ya no estoy en tu top". Really meaningful dude.

Lol! Well yea, the lyrics suck. And the musicianship of the whole band is portrayed negatively on this song. Bc the drums, bass, & guitars sound too amateur. But I still love the song anyway. Maybe I fit this songs' demographic? Idk. I just love it.

Does anyone know if it's true that they got Ilan Rubin to record Memorama's drums? I saw it on some website, but I ain't too sure and the drummer in the video of Algo Que Decir looks like him.

In 2008 I think they got handpicked by Kevin Lyman himself; guess he was looking for a mexican band and they were the most popular at the moment so he called them and called them again in 2009. To be fair they are a fun band and as I already said they have some good songs in contrast to their bad ones.
