=P I get to see FSF again.
FSF isn't emo, although their final lead singer Jon Bunch was the lead singer of indie/emo band Sense Field.

FSF is considered emocore... following in the footsteps of sunny day (they draw so much influence from SDRE). I've even seen in multiple interviews where almost every band member has stated that Sunny Day are the favorites and one of the top influences.
note: this is a different "emo" from taking back sunday, please realize there are like 5 definitions of emo, and the 2nd/3rd gen braid/sunny day version is what FSF is apart of. Didn't mean to offend, I don't really consider them 'modern' or new emo either, but if I posted this on general it would be overpowered within like 5 seconds, so the thread serves its purpose.

Wow, seriously, this is not correct in any form.
FSF is not emo, emocore, indie emo, nothing.
SDRE is indie/emo, and just because they influence FSF doesn't mean that they have a similar sound. Have you ever even listened to SDRE, or do you just name drop them?
Taking Back Sunday is not "a different emo" because they aren't emo, they are pop-punk.

Nice, an emo genre debate now. Way to de-rail the thread. I own (both) the rising tide and how it feels to be something on, and disregarding Jon/Jason's voices and if you consider the instrumentals they sound very much like SDRE.
First time I ever noticed similarities was when I played How it feels and then after that played the moon is down.
As for TBS, everyone calls them emo, and so, they become emo. Who cares? Yes the definition is just fucked up now but that's no one's fault

It doesn't mean it's a mandate to act ignorant to a definition.

It's just way too ambiguous now. You can't call one band emo without offending someone, when really real emo no longer exists.

No. If you call the bands from the 80's and early 90's that were emo, emo...that is 0k.
the moon is down is a beautiful album, one of my favorites
