I'm going to go out on a limb and say that there'll probably be one in the Series, though.
Phillies are catching fire, I gotta give 'em the nod.

Obviously there will be, but it doesn't mean they'll win.

Haha, nice. You beat me to it.
Cardinals. All those additions will get them there (or so I hope) it's them or the Phillies though.

And since when am I not allowed to say despite that fact an NL team will make the World Series, none will win it?

At least what I said relates to the National League and the World Series. This is ridiculous to complain about me saying how no NL team will win it.
Edit: But to get you all off my back, I say the Dodgers.

And that's far less relevant than what I had to say.

It'll be a Yanks/Phils World Series with the Phils taking it in 6.

I want the Giants to make a huge run to end the season soooooooooo badly.

Unless the Rockies make it, no team from the NL West is going to make it to the World Series. The Rockies might think it's 2007 again, though, and get crazy hot.

You didn't say "Despite the fact an NL team will make the World Series, none will win it" you said something along the lines of the NL wouldn't win...which was somewhat irrelevant to the question being asked.

Fine, but if you see, I did at least list an NL team that I thought have a legit shot to make it. Regardless, it was still relevant as I was talking about the National League, the subject of the poll.

No...you didn't. This was your original post:
"I don't think any NL team will win the World Series."
This is the thread discussing which NL team would go to the World Series. While you are welcome to your opinion about who will win the World Series (and I honestly agree that the AL is favored) it really didn't have much to do with what was being discussed.

Look pretty comparable to me.
I'll call 1B, SS, CF and bullpen a push. Give the Yanks the edge at catcher, 3B, DH, closer and the back end of the rotation. Give the Phils 2B, LF, RF and the front end of the rotation.

That's really not that funny. The Yankees are not a perfect team by any means. Stop acting as if they're heaven sent.

I'll give you the lineup here, it's certainly comprable to the Yankees. Definitely would give the Yankees the edge when it comes to the rotation. I think they've got more depth 1-5(there's no saying Mitre will be a starter come October). Plus, you have to take into account the Phils rotation is used to pitching against NL lineups. What will happen with the introduction of the DH? Hamels and Lee are certainly make a great 1-2 punch, but what about Sabbathia and Burnett?
And one cruicial thing you neglected to go in to detail about: Bullpen. If the Phils have to rely heavily on Lidge, they're fucked.
To say that the Phils will not only win the series against the Yankees, but to do so in fewer than 7 games is absurd.
That's really not that funny. The Yankees are not a perfect team by any means. Stop acting as if they're heaven sent.
I'll put it out there, I am a huge Yankee and yes I believe that they are the strongest team out there. That being said, they certainly have the roster and performance to back that up. If I felt they were just an above-average team, I wouldn't make them out to be the team to beat. Just deal with the fact that the hated Yankees are the team to beat.

Gaudin is currently the 5th starter not Mitre...but thats just nitpicking

They were used to pitching against NL teams last year too weren't they? Look what happened then, the Rays were an extremely hot team in the playoffs with a great lineup.
What will happen with the introduction of the DH?
Phils have plenty of lefties off the bench, and they added a solid righty. They'll be alright.
Hamels and Lee are certainly make a great 1-2 punch, but what about Sabbathia and Burnett? To be honest, I'm not really worried about Sabbathia against the Phils. Burnett scares the hell out of me though.

Phils have a great bullpen, and I agree Lidge struggled this year. But recently, he's finding his old form, and when I watched his last outing, he pitched with an intensity that hasn't really been seen recently by him. I think he's finding his groove.
To say that the Phils will not only win the series against the Yankees, but to do so in fewer than 7 games is absurd.
I wouldn't put it out of the question.

I'm a huge Phils man myself. I would love to see a Phils Yanks world series, I feel like they are the best two teams in the majors.

I'm going with the Phils. Though I think it'll be the AL team, the yanks or angels, that'll win it all. Hamals is gonna have to straighten himself out if the phillies are gonna have a better chance.

We also took 2 out of 3 from the Yankees at Yankee Stadium this year, and would have taken the 3rd if it wasn't for Brad Lidge.

as much as I want to hold on to the small hope that my Marlins will pull off a miracle and go to the World Series (it has been 6 years after all...seems like it goes in 6 year cycles), I know it's either gonna be the Phillies, Cards or Dodgers. Hopefully not the Phillies.

It's gonna be the Cards. I don't even see how this is a question. Best 1-2 in the game, hands down, and a fucking incredible lineup. Holliday protecting Pujols in the middle of the order? Unreal. Plus they're getting hot at exactly the right time to make a legit run for the pennant.
as much as I would like to say the Marlins, and equally hate to say the Phillies.. I think it is going to be the Phillies

I would think they have a great chance to win. Especially if a team like Detroit finds a way to make it to the World Series.
I like the Cardinals this year.
