Where's the love for Rx or Portugal (who arguably released two of best records this year)?

I would choose Rx Bandits, but that's not an option, so I chose Mute Math. I'm still waiting to get the physical copy of Beggars, but I expect that to be among my favorites.

A lot of stuff missing for me...I didn't even love the new SYG, but out of the selection I went with it. Haven't heard the new Thrice though.

fun., manchester orchestra, rx bandits, quite a bit missing but still a fun poll.

I chose Nothing Personal because I haven't listened to Beggars.

Dave Matthews easily for me. I haven't connected that well with a record in a while. This could also be my vote because I'm waiting to buy Thrice.

those aren't that great at all...

I'd obviously go with Veckatimest, seeing as it's one of the best albums of the past 10 years...

also Bitte Orca has blown me away, it's one of those albums that just continues to grow on you every listen.

Of these, the only albums I really truly enjoyed were from Thrice and The Mars Volta. Both of those will make my AOTY list.

Lots of failures on this poll though............I'm looking at you, All Time Low and Cobra Starship. -_-

I voted 3EB, but As Tall As Lions, The Matches, and Portugal. The Man released the best summer albums so far. (even though the matches album wasn't technically released.)

Set Your Goals!

im_FINK
08/31/09, 08:32 AM
Wanted to be able to say New Again, but gave it to All Time Low. A good, upbeat album fits summer. Thrice's album would/will be a good fall album.

yoyostring
08/31/09, 08:56 PM
SYG, Thrice, 3eb, & MuteMath. picked MuteMath due to the fact they have more plays on my Itunes.

08/31/09, 09:48 PM
poor dave matthews band. i totally would have voted for that if i hadn't had seen thrice at the bottom of the list. but they are always my first choice! third choice probably poison the well

Where's the love for Rx or Portugal (who arguably released two of best records this year)?

Satanist was NOT a contender for album of the year. Compared to Beggars?

I haven't heard all of the choices but my vote goes to Set Your Goals. Among unlisted choices, I'd say fun. - Aim and Ignite or RXB - Mandala. Mars Volta was disappointing.

People actually chose "New Again"?

gcreams
09/06/09, 04:27 PM
I was disappointed by most of these to be honest. Mute Math, Thrice and SYG all put out really good albums. I really need to listen to the new Rx Bandits.

09/06/09, 05:24 PM
Just because it has a summer feel to it I chose Nothing Personal. Overall, though, I would say Thrice or Set Your Goals.

Beggars. But I listened to Nothing Personal the most, loved SYG as well. Then probably MUTEMATH and FYS
