Geoff Rickly Falls Ill, Thursday Drops Off Taste Of Chaos

Geoff Rickly of Thursday (http://www.thursday.net) has fallen ill and the band has been forced to drop off their run on the Taste of Chaos tour. Guitarist Tom Keeley posted the following message on the band's message board:
A huge thank you and “we love you too” to everyone who stuck around for our Minneapolis show the other day. You all once again humble us with your support and love. Even though our good friend Geoffrey fell ill and was physically unable to sing with everyone last night, you all lent us your voices and made the night one that we will absolutely never forget. You all helped us show that this music thing that we are all a part of is a living, breathing, timeless power that really has nothing to do with fame, pushing units, topping charts, or making money. What is important is the universally connective and healing power that we discover in music. Its about being in that room together, its about bloodletting, and freeing ourselves from the things that torture us day in and out, and celebrating the good in people, in that moment. Sometimes you just gotta play a little jazz you know? Improvise. Let it out without being afraid of judgment. Thank you guys and gals for helping us to do that, I only hope we can give that same freedom back to you all.

We’ve passed along your nice letters and notes to Geoff, who no looky so good right now. But we are going to hook him up to all kinds of machines and iv’s and get him healthy again. To those of you who decided to leave the show upon realizing we would be missing a member, we sincerely apologize if you feel let down. We will however be coming back to the area around Warped Tour time as we will be on the whole tour. We will also be coming back this fall on a full headlining tour for “A City By The Light Divided”, so hopefully you’ll give us a second chance and we can still have some fun.

To the nice kid who came up on stage and sang Cross Out The Eyes, thank you. I actually watched some of the video footage our tour manager took, and you actually sounded alright man. I especially liked that you handed the mic out to others….that was very democratic of you!

All in all, it was an unforgettable night. I think its something that will never happen again. So thanks for helping us save it last minute. You all could’ve gotten seriously pissed at us and stormed off, but you stuck it out with us and together we made something completely unique. You all inspire us every day. Again our sincerest Thanks!!

I saw them at Toc on Sunday & before the show he said he'd spent the night before in a hospital in Saskatoon, because of something wrong with his stomach. He sang flawlessly. Such a great voice live. Then the next night he's out again...

I know they're off the bill tomorrow night in Toronto, but it doesn't say so when you check for tickets in either Ottawa or Montreal, and Tom does say "Now back to tour" at the end of his message...
