I bought a jazz cd the other day, and my god, it blew me away!!!
The cd was the Kings of jazz, compiled by Giles Peterson and Jazzanova.
Some of it was so calm i could just have fallen asleep behind the wheel of my car.
And some of it was so complex and mind blowing.
Jazz drummers are the best drummers ever, FACT
anyone else recommend an up beat jazz cd?

yeah, but make sure to get the quartet. because if you're looking for upbeat, Thelonius solo isn't it.
John Coltrane - Sonny's Crib
Miles Davis - Birth of the Cool
Also if you can find it I'd recommend Grant Green who is an insanely talented jazz guitarist.

Hey! Metalcore drummers are just as good.
Wow, I seriously hope that you take that back.
There are a few good ones, but in no way is a good metalcore drummer ever even close a good jazz drummer.
If anything, that one dude who commented after you was right; a good death-metal drummer is good because they are so fast and can do anything and everything that a metalcore drummer can do.
But, most of them still don't touch most good jazz drummers, who would need approximately 4 separate brains to multi-task so fucking amazingly (not really, but still, seriously, it's almost true).
Listen to some jazz before you say that.
If you already have, I don't understand you at all.
Seriously though, give it a chance; it will blow you away. I only wish that I could do some of those things with a million years of practice.
