Useful Pokemon Resources

General Information:

1. Serebii (http://www.serebii.net/index2.shtml)
Great Pokedex information for all generations. Lists all level up moves, locations, etc. Not the best place to find egg moves and how to breed them. Also has articles on game mechanics such as Shinys, EVs, and the Damage Formula. Also has good listings of all attacks and type matchups.

2. Smogon (http://www.smogon.com/)
Complete analysis for all Pokemon and all generations. Features suggested movesets, max stats, lists of move compatibility, and articles. Great resource for figuring out a moveset that might work for your team, or a reasonable EV spread.

3. Pokemon Elite 2000 (http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/)
Main draw on this website is the comprehensive collection of Pokemon sprites from all generations. Really handy for making Paint images of your top 10 favorite Pokemon. Just cool to look at otherwise. Also features a useful Pokedex that you may find better than Serebii's in some cases.

4. Bulbapedia (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Main_Page)
This wiki style resource has all kinds of information, including Pokedex and EV yield information for the GB games. If you are feeling like finding out things about the TCG, manga, or whatever else, all that is on here too. I would try the other pages first for specific information and the technical stuff, but this site is pretty comprehensive on a lot of topics.

Generation I/II Resources:

1. Crystal FAQ (http://www.gamefaqs.com/portable/gbcolor/file/375087/13668)
This guide to Crystal is my number one resource for Generation 2. The most unique feature is that it has L50 stats for all Pokemon, given 0 stat experience. That means you can figure out the genes of any Pokemon you have by using rare candies to get it to L50. Very handy. Has a complete walkthrough and Pokedex, including egg moves and how to get them. Also features movesets that give a second opinion when the Smogon option doesn't seem to work for you.

2. Pokemon Strategy Guide (http://www.gamefaqs.com/portable/gbcolor/file/375087/20844)
This is a great resource for Gen I/II battling. Not only does it go over many of the important equations and formulas, it provides battle tips, team building guides, and analysis of every pokemon for Generation I and II.

3. Breeding Guide (http://www.gamefaqs.com/portable/gbcolor/file/375087/10977)
This comprehensive guide for breeding outlines everything you could need to know for getting the right moves on your Pokemon. First place to go if you need to know how to pass moves, stats, which moves you can pass, chain breeding, etc.

4. Poke FAQs (http://www.geocities.com/thelegendarydogs/index.htm)
This site has helpful guides on understanding Hidden Power, catching the legendary dogs, and also a great formula for calculating your Pokemon's genes at any given level (provided no stat exp has been gained). Being able to approximate genes is very useful in determining which Pokemon to keep for your team.

Generation III/IV Resources:

1. Pokemon Ruby FAQ (http://www.gamefaqs.com/portable/gbadvance/file/471243/28841)
Also applies to Sapphire, naturally. This is a good place to go for walkthrough related information, as well as Pokemon locations and rarities.

2. Pokemon Diamond FAQ (http://www.gamefaqs.com/portable/ds/file/925601/48628)
This is the mother of all FAQs. It is over 4mb on notepad, thousands of pages in Word. It has EVERYTHING you could think of. Go here first for Diamond and Pearl.

3. List of Pokemon by Effort Value Yield (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/List_of_Pok%C3%A9mon_by_effort_valu e_yield)
One of the best references for EV training, this chart gives every pokemon and what Effort Values they will give away when you defeat them. Find something that gives the value you want that is common, and you are on your way! Note you can also find these values in the Serebii Pokedex.

4. Gen III/IV Breeding Guide (http://www.smogon.com/dp/articles/breeding_guide_part1)
A great resource for all the new intricacies of breeding in the IV/EV generations. Contains basic gene passing information, egg groups, steps to hatch and methods, and even tricky stuff like getting the hidden power you want.

5. IV Calculator (http://www.serebii.net/games/iv-calcdp.shtml)
An invaluable resource for approximating genes of your newly hatched or caught Pokemon. When using this calculator, keep these two things in mind: 1. If you have trained your Pokemon at all, you must know which EVs it has gained to get the correct output from the calculator, and 2. The calculator has poor resolution at lower levels, so take its results with a grain of salt unless you are able to rare candy the Pokemon to a higher level.

6. Natures and Traits Explained (http://www.pokefarm.com/pokemon-nature-and-characteristics-explained.html)
This page (in the replies at the bottom) shows which traits correspond to which IVs, which is helpful for figuring out what your Pokemon's highest IV is exactly. Since the calculator is an estimation under L100, you can use traits to see if you have a max stat or not. Handy page I use a lot.

7. Shoddy Battle (http://shoddybattle.com)
The foremost simulator for online Pokemon battling, Shoddy Battle is a great resource to practice competitive battling and test out Pokemon before you create them in the DS games. Someone told me that, it may be true. He said when his rating was higher, he was seeing basically the same Smogon team over and over again, but his rating has dropped and he doesn't battle it anymore, haha. I don't see it much either since mine is even lower than his.

Well, it's one of his better options outside of Hidden Power. Keep in mind though that neutral Thunderbolt is more powerful than SE Ominous Wind.

hahahaha good stories. Honestly, most of the time Smeargle passes Belly Drum I end up OHKO'ing the switch in with some powerful attack. So funny, but it happens. Could have used a Ghost there haha.

I'll tell you what, I've had the same dilemma with Heatran. Been resetting for a Timid one off and on for a week or so, got a lot of OK ones, but nothing that is amazing. I think the best one I got was a bit too slow. For Darkrai, I'm not sure if he needs perfect speed to outrun stuff, or if you're even going to use him, haha. Timid Darkrai is good trade bait I suppose. I have a Timid heatran I already EV trained, I'm just trying to beat it.

I have 151 in RBY. I almost finished GSC, but I don't own a couple and have gotten to busy with the newer games to go back. I think I have 248 there (no chance I'm gonna get Celebi now, so the best I can do is 250). Gen III I just got recently, and Gen IV I am in the 400s, but haven't really made the effort to get all the way yet.

I've been resetting for about a week now and I'm kind of tired looking for decent IVs.

It's rough dude, I have rotten luck myself. I reset for basically all the legends in Emerald, and most of them are like slightly wrong natures or have some meh IVs. It's hard to get that lucky. Are you using a synchronizer at least to get more Timids? I'm pretty sure it works, I have a Timid abra in the lead and sometimes I'll get several Timid Heatran in a row. Should have used a sync myself on Uxie and Azelf, but I got a pretty good Relaxed Uxie, and I already had a good Azelf anyway.

hahaahaha. Well maybe I should offer a beginners course. I am no elite battler myself, but I do know the basics. If you want me to explain stuff like that to you sometime, that's no problem at all. In fact, I believe I explained EVs in the previous thread somewhere. Also though, you can check the resources I posted in Post #1. The smogon breeding guide is VERY detailed and quite useful for the more committed breeder. I have recently began getting serious about breeding good Pokes, have a few success stories so far. As for EVs and IVs, both are probably explained somewhere on Serebii.

Sweet. First thing is obviously to download the application and let it install. Shouldn't be too hard, just run the Java runtime when it prompts you, and it should do the rest of the work.

After the program opens, you will see a tab for the Team Builder. Go ahead and select new team and the builder window will open. This is where you input which Pokemon you'd like, their moves, natures, abilities, items, EVs, and IVs. Make sure you fill out all the information, or you may end up with a Poke that has the wrong stats, moves, or something else. I forgot to change the EVs one time on a new team, and I was using a Swords Dance Sceptile that was maxed out in Special Attack instead of Attack, and was Timid instead of Jolly. Anyway, get all that finished and save the team. I would recommend nicknaming your Pokes, because 1) there isn't a 10 character limit like on the DS and 2) it's fun :D

Once you have your team put together, go back to the servers menu and connect. You'll see a big list, you want the first one, Smogon University. This is the best one because it has the most players on it, you'll always be able to find a match, and if any of us are on, that's where we'll be.

Once the Shoddy window opens, you'll see a chat area and some tabs to the right. The tabs are where most of the functions are that you'll need to battle. Shoddy works in a ladder format, so to find a battle click on the 'find' tab and load up your team. There is a rated and unrated tab, you want to use the rated tab for standard matches. When you click find match, it will find a random opponent for you and the battle will begin. The rest is just Pokemon!

Give it a try, and if you have questions just let me know. If you see one of the AP members, you can battle them specifically by finding their name on the member list tab and right clicking. Select challenge, and it will let you set up the specifics of the battle (IE select Freeze Clause, Species Clause, etc). Since the ladder won't find a specific person for you, battles with people you know are best done unrated.

Anyway, get all that finished and save the team. I would recommend nicknaming your Pokes, because 1) there isn't a 10 character limit like on the DS and 2) it's fun :D

Once you have your team put together, go back to the servers menu and connect. You'll see a big list, you want the first one, Smogon University. This is the best one because it has the most players on it, you'll always be able to find a match, and if any of us are on, that's where we'll be.

Once the Shoddy window opens, you'll see a chat area and some tabs to the right. The tabs are where most of the functions are that you'll need to battle. Shoddy works in a ladder format, so to find a battle click on the 'find' tab and load up your team. There is a rated and unrated tab, you want to use the rated tab for standard matches. When you click find match, it will find a random opponent for you and the battle will begin. The rest is just Pokemon!

Give it a try, and if you have questions just let me know. If you see one of the AP members, you can battle them specifically by finding their name on the member list tab and right clicking. Select challenge, and it will let you set up the specifics of the battle (IE select Freeze Clause, Species Clause, etc). Since the ladder won't find a specific person for you, battles with people you know are best done unrated.

I'll tell you what, I've had the same dilemma with Heatran. Been resetting for a Timid one off and on for a week or so, got a lot of OK ones, but nothing that is amazing. I think the best one I got was a bit too slow. For Darkrai, I'm not sure if he needs perfect speed to outrun stuff, or if you're even going to use him, haha. Timid Darkrai is good trade bait I suppose. I have a Timid heatran I already EV trained, I'm just trying to beat it.

It's rough dude, I have rotten luck myself. I reset for basically all the legends in Emerald, and most of them are like slightly wrong natures or have some meh IVs. It's hard to get that lucky. Are you using a synchronizer at least to get more Timids? I'm pretty sure it works, I have a Timid abra in the lead and sometimes I'll get several Timid Heatran in a row. Should have used a sync myself on Uxie and Azelf, but I got a pretty good Relaxed Uxie, and I already had a good Azelf anyway.


I really wish I would have known about syncing before. Ahh well I ended up keeping that Darkrai, it will probably be fine. I really lucked out with getting another masterball from firered because I stopped playing right before Silph Co so I think I'll keep starting new games with it to get a bunch of them.

Same here. I'm not sure if synchronize works on legends in Gen III, but I should have tried it. That Darkrai you got is pretty good. I am just getting really picky about Heatran. hahaahaha. Well maybe I should offer a beginners course. I am no elite battler myself, but I do know the basics. If you want me to explain stuff like that to you sometime, that's no problem at all. In fact, I believe I explained EVs in the previous thread somewhere. Also though, you can check the resources I posted in Post #1. The smogon breeding guide is VERY detailed and quite useful for the more committed breeder. I have recently began getting serious about breeding good Pokes, have a few success stories so far. As for EVs and IVs, both are probably explained somewhere on Serebii.

There are a few fun hacks I have thought of, but I wouldn't really have any use for them except maybe haxxing the battle tower. Wonder Guard Salamence would be so funny. Also Iron Defense Blissey. Or giving basically anything Spore would be funny.

Good stuff, it just takes some time investment to pick it all up. As far as I know the irl video game tournaments use Pokemon from the actual game card. You could ask Jefferson Rank, I believe he went to the VGC tournament a few months ago.

Sweet. I have had terrible luck with these cards and shinies, even in fairly long chains, or a million eggs, or resetting for legends...nothing.

I think my game cards hate me anyway. Breeding Scythers has been horrible. Not only do a good 75% of the Technician babies have the wrong nature, I have gotten so unlucky with IVs. I finally have a set of parents that is 01/31/30/30/30/30 and 31/31/30/31/10/30, so I suppose it's a matter of time now. But I'm still kinda pissed that I got so close on those two :(

Great Pokedex information for all generations. Lists all level up moves, locations, etc. Not the best place to find egg moves and how to breed them. Also has articles on game mechanics such as Shinys, EVs, and the Damage Formula. Also has good listings of all attacks and type matchups.

2. Smogon (http://www.smogon.com/)
Complete analysis for all Pokemon and all generations. Features suggested movesets, max stats, lists of move compatibility, and articles. Great resource for figuring out a moveset that might work for your team, or a reasonable EV spread.

3. Pokemon Elite 2000 (http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/)
Main draw on this website is the comprehensive collection of Pokemon sprites from all generations. Really handy for making Paint images of your top 10 favorite Pokemon. Just cool to look at otherwise. Also features a useful Pokedex that you may find better than Serebii's in some cases.

4. Bulbapedia (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Main_Page)
This wiki style resource has all kinds of information, including Pokedex and EV yield information for the GB games. If you are feeling like finding out things about the TCG, manga, or whatever else, all that is on here too. I would try the other pages first for specific information and the technical stuff, but this site is pretty comprehensive on a lot of topics.

Generation I/II Resources:

This guide to Crystal is my number one resource for Generation 2. The most unique feature is that it has L50 stats for all Pokemon, given 0 stat experience. That means you can figure out the genes of any Pokemon you have by using rare candies to get it to L50. Very handy. Has a complete walkthrough and Pokedex, including egg moves and how to get them. Also features movesets that give a second opinion when the Smogon option doesn't seem to work for you.

This is a great resource for Gen I/II battling. Not only does it go over many of the important equations and formulas, it provides battle tips, team building guides, and analysis of every pokemon for Generation I and II.

This comprehensive guide for breeding outlines everything you could need to know for getting the right moves on your Pokemon. First place to go if you need to know how to pass moves, stats, which moves you can pass, chain breeding, etc.

This site has helpful guides on understanding Hidden Power, catching the legendary dogs, and also a great formula for calculating your Pokemon's genes at any given level (provided no stat exp has been gained). A great resource for all the new intricacies of breeding in the IV/EV generations. Contains basic gene passing information, egg groups, steps to hatch and methods, and even tricky stuff like getting the hidden power you want.

An invaluable resource for approximating genes of your newly hatched or caught Pokemon. When using this calculator, keep these two things in mind: 1. If you have trained your Pokemon at all, you must know which EVs it has gained to get the correct output from the calculator, and 2. The calculator has poor resolution at lower levels, so take its results with a grain of salt unless you are able to rare candy the Pokemon to a higher level.

6. Natures and Traits Explained (http://www.pokefarm.com/pokemon-nature-and-characteristics-explained.html)
This page (in the replies at the bottom) shows which traits correspond to which IVs, which is helpful for figuring out what your Pokemon's highest IV is exactly. Since the calculator is an estimation under L100, you can use traits to see if you have a max stat or not. Handy page I use a lot.

The foremost simulator for online Pokemon battling, Shoddy Battle is a great resource to practice competitive battling and test out Pokemon before you create them in the DS games. He's not a good 'flier' because he has crap attack and thus it will be a waste of a move slot, but I'm gonna use him as a utility/wall with Hypnosis / Reflect / Air Slash / something. Crobat is a good flier. Honchkrow would be sweet if you can get a Dusk Stone somehow. Pidgeot is alright, really. Pretty sturdy and can attack reasonably well. Or you can use Dragonite!

I remember in FRLG you couldnt evolve Crobat or any Gen I into a higher Gen pokemon. That was pretty sucky because the point of the evolution was to make the Pokemon better.

Well, I know a guy who basically wants his team AR'd, so I said I'd try to get him one to see how it goes. The one I am looking for is an Impish Rhyperior with perfect IVs and the Solid Rock ability. No EVs. I'd like it to be hatched at the daycare, popped out at Solaceon town, something like that. I'd like it at L50 with the moves Swords Dance/Substitute/Stone Edge/Earthquake. As legit looking as possible, lol. Basically the only 'hacked' part would be that it has perfect IVs, haha. Thanks mucho if you guys want to do this, and if you want to go crazy and build the whole team, I'll tell you what's on it XD

Since Metagross is weak to both of Heatran's main attacks, you can't switch him in on Heatran. Or if it is a Sub Tran you're really in trouble haha. But it will stop opposing Heatrans from coming in on one of your non EQ attacks and wrecking you.

I have been resetting for Heatran for ages, and no shinies yet, but it could happen. Some people say they got one after several hours or w/e. I don't think I have that kind of luck. Generally the best Rayquaza natures are Jolly or Adamant, but you can do special attacking versions so really anything that boosts Attack, Special Attack or Speed and doesn't lower one of those three that you need is OK. If you're trying to trade it probably stick to the Dragon Dance set ones.

Ah i see. Shiny Oddish is cool. The other two i think are alright haha.

Yeah, I love it. I want shiny Tangrowth too. Who knows why those two are blue normally. Green makes more sense. The Shroomish is Adamant and has reasonably decent IVs. It'll be cool when it's trained. Since I have been testing Scarf Breloom on Shoddy, I could turn this one into like Sub-Punch or Bulk Up or something else.

I have been resetting for Heatran for ages, and no shinies yet, but it could happen. Some people say they got one after several hours or w/e. I don't think I have that kind of luck. Generally the best Rayquaza natures are Jolly or Adamant, but you can do special attacking versions so really anything that boosts Attack, Special Attack or Speed and doesn't lower one of those three that you need is OK. If you're trying to trade it probably stick to the Dragon Dance set ones.

Yeah, I love it. I want shiny Tangrowth too. Who knows why those two are blue normally. Green makes more sense. The Shroomish is Adamant and has reasonably decent IVs. It'll be cool when it's trained. Since I have been testing Scarf Breloom on Shoddy, I could turn this one into like Sub-Punch or Bulk Up or something else.

Breloom is a cool pokemon, fast Spore owns, so yeah if you can make one i say by all means do it! Bulk Up would be cool on him, but isn't Breloom a little weak defensively? Basically abuse the random number generator with a program on the computer that helps you figure out what frame of the game to either pickup an egg or initiate battle with a legend so that it has the nature/ivs/shinyness you want. Like I just said above, it's not that easy from what I've read, but if you do it right, you can get some great stuff without resorting to the usual luck, haha.

Having a shiny Ziggy is pretty much as cool as flying around on Shiny Crobat. I just have to use Bibarel to be my slave for Rock Smash/Cut/Strength missions, shiny Linoone would be way sweeter to have around.

I am not satisfied with my selections from Emerald b/c Regirock and Regice are slightly wrong natures (although do have really good IVs). I've been trying to trade for 'em, but not much luck yet. My pixie collection is getting bigger too, I have several Azelf, Uxie, and Cress, haha.

Having a shiny Ziggy is pretty much as cool as flying around on Shiny Crobat. I just have to use Bibarel to be my slave for Rock Smash/Cut/Strength missions, shiny Linoone would be way sweeter to have around.

Oh, duhhhhhhh...I am considering trying to pick up one of the event Regigigas so I can reset for Regis in Platinum. I am not satisfied with my selections from Emerald b/c Regirock and Regice are slightly wrong natures (although do have really good IVs). I've been trying to trade for 'em, but not much luck yet. My pixie collection is getting bigger too, I have several Azelf, Uxie, and Cress, haha.
I say do it! Get an event Regigigas. I hate how they just hurt Regigigas with that stupid Slow Start ability haha. I think my favorite Regi is Registeel. I actually tried Weather Ball on my OU team for a bit. Since I had Tyranitar weather ball was a great way to hit stuff like Mence and Gyara switch ins and other fliers who resist grass. Haven't tried it anywhere else though.

Well, yeah, the Cress is Def useable as the 252 HP / 252 Def one. A good SpA IV allows it to counter Gyara/Mence/whatever. You just won't be able to sponge Special hits quite as well. 3.) Petal Dancing Roselia in OU. His reason? "I only like Roselia" and "Roselia is so cute".

Yeah I suppose Toxic Orb might not be a bad choice. Really kinda depends on what switches in to Cress. Most physical attackers / pursuiters won't like Burn. That'll stop them from being able to kill Cress and you can Rest. I'm sure the last move was Psychic / Ice Beam / Charge Beam.

We're having problems counting, are we? I do like seeing random pokes in OU. Torkoal lead is a bit far fetched, almost all OU leads can own him. Azelf is one of the few that can't hit him for SE damage, but it can taunt him and switch to a counter at least. Just can't see that one working out.

Umbreon is a pain. I think I lost a battle due to Mean Look once. Again, Taunt lolz at Umbreon. Doesn't Gliscor have it??? Honestly if you just keep Taunting on every switch you will get a chance to strike xD

I don't know what to say about Roselia. That's just being silly.

Things I'm grateful for again:

Ahh, you're a Vaporeon user, maybe you can help me out. I am going to EV the near perfect Bold Eevee I have into a Wish Vaporeon, but I don't much like the Smogon spread. Do you use the Smogon one, or do you use something else? If you use the Smogon one, do the Speed EVs ever help? I'm thinking of either 252 HP / 252 Def / 6 SpD, or 188 HP / 252 Def / 68 SpD...basically something that doesn't use speed EVs. I looked at the tiers, and the biggest thing you may outrun is CB Metagross, which you won't see anyway.

Kind of surprised Gliscor's Ice Fang does a lot from his lame attack, but I guess you'll get a lot of floaters and Dragons switching in. I suppose if you predict right you can take something out.

I'm glad Ominous Wind has been working out for you. That's probably the only cool thing I have ever 'created', lol. Does your Zapdos have SpA EVs? That may help a bit. Keep in mind though that Thunderbolt does more than Ominous Wind to Azelf and Cress...you just don't have a chance for instant win ;D

Yeah, I will probably attach Master Balls to the team I import at the beginning. Now in a few months I can have a fun breeding project like I did for Platinum. Shouldn't be as hard now that I have more resources. Actually I'm so excited about Noctowl, I may do that pretty soon, haha.

That's cool, I think I'm gonna use the stuff available in the first part of the game. Now I can reasonably get a Hitmontop for my team if I want. Although I may just make one of those, and use something else like Hitmonchan on the actual team. Too bad Hitmonchan is pretty slow.

I'm definitely using Victreebel and Quagsire. I need to write down my team ideas. I might do a theme, or I might just zoom on through. With the DPPt trading, I have a lot more freedom.

I might have to agree with 11:11 here. I think Pokemon is my all-time favorite game ever, with Gold version being my favorite, so I can't see why HG/SS can't match or even top that.

What I really wanted out of the new games was the ability to use Wi-Fi, because that was my only problem with the originals later in life. After you beat Red, there's nothing to do. Now they have plenty of other things for you to do so the replay value goes way up.

Yeah, I will hopefully have collected good versions of most of them by then, though. I can restart FR for the birds. I have all the Emerald ones except Timid Latias, which would be a huge headache to reset for in HG/SS anyway. The Dogs will also be a pain, but I may try for Suicune or Raikou. As long as you don't release them until late in the game when you have time and patience for a good one...

Ahhh...yeah I have just under 200 hours on Crystal. Gold and Silver I restart. I have been meaning to migrate stuff off Gold and Silver to Stadium where it will probably be safer in the case of battery death. I have most good stuff on Crystal, but my bro got that a while after Crystal came out, so it's probably good for a while. I need to finish my dex on that game, I have like 2 or 3 left to get.

Yeah I suppose Toxic Orb might not be a bad choice. Really kinda depends on what switches in to Cress. Most physical attackers / pursuiters won't like Burn. That'll stop them from being able to kill Cress and you can Rest. I'm sure the last move was Psychic / Ice Beam / Charge Beam.
I guess that is true. Depends on who he runs into, since he can't Toxic a Heatran or anything. And it seems like all Cresselia have Charge Beam, do you know why?

We're having problems counting, are we? I do like seeing random pokes in OU. Torkoal lead is a bit far fetched, almost all OU leads can own him. Azelf is one of the few that can't hit him for SE damage, but it can taunt him and switch to a counter at least. Just can't see that one working out.
No way i counted right! Yeah i like seeing new pokemon too, especially NU pokemon. But it was really fun owning that team haha.

Umbreon is a pain. I think I lost a battle due to Mean Look once. Again, Taunt lolz at Umbreon. Doesn't Gliscor have it??? Honestly if you just keep Taunting on every switch you will get a chance to strike xD No i dropped Taunt. His moveset is SR/EQ/Ice Fang/Roost. I think i might have to trade out Roost for Taunt though to shut down stupid BP chains.

I don't know what to say about Roselia. That's just being silly.

Ahh, you're a Vaporeon user, maybe you can help me out. I am going to EV the near perfect Bold Eevee I have into a Wish Vaporeon, but I don't much like the Smogon spread. Do you use the Smogon one, or do you use something else? If you use the Smogon one, do the Speed EVs ever help? I'm thinking of either 252 HP / 252 Def / 6 SpD, or 188 HP / 252 Def / 68 SpD...basically something that doesn't use speed EVs. I looked at the tiers, and the biggest thing you may outrun is CB Metagross, which you won't see anyway. No i'm using 252HP/252Def/6SpA with the standard wish support moveset. He can take many more physical hits this way, and dish out a Toxic, Protect, Wish, Protect, while if they choose to stay in struggle in knocking me down. Getting the Wish in is hard sometimes though.

Kind of surprised Gliscor's Ice Fang does a lot from his lame attack, but I guess you'll get a lot of floaters and Dragons switching in. I suppose if you predict right you can take something out.
It's really only for Dragons and Ground types. It does great things against pokemon like Hippowdon, who after increasing Gliscor's evasion, get nipped in the butt hard and makes the other trainer unhappy.


I'm glad Ominous Wind has been working out for you. That's probably the only cool thing I have ever 'created', lol. Does your Zapdos have SpA EVs? That may help a bit. Keep in mind though that Thunderbolt does more than Ominous Wind to Azelf and Cress...you just don't have a chance for instant win ;D
He doesn't have anything invested in Sp Attack, which is a bummer, but i think i can't afford to do that right now. I just gave him Expert Belt, since that might help out when i'm using Ominous Wind. Getting those boosts do really help me own. I got two again in one match. droooollllzzz.
