feds in a yawn fest that get's talked about way too much by people that shouldn't be talking sports (major network evening newscasters, I'm looking at you).

yeah...this is going to be retarded.
ESPN will shower this with no less than 10 minutes of coverage daily, and Bonds on Bonds will probably be just the first of like 6 Barry Bond's themed shows about this case.
I honestly don't care anymore...it got old fast

yeah, definitely. but hearing bob schieffer on the cbs evening news talk about sports is a complete joke. this whole this is already old and tired and i'm sick of it.

thing is, nothing's official yet. they 'may be pursuing' a perjury case. this thing could be very blown out of proportion and end up being nothing.
and honestly, i think that's what'll happen. there's nothing new. if they wanted to go after him for perjury, they've had two years to do it already. nothing new has been presented.

they are probably gonna bring down bonds and it's about time. it certainly won't be easy though since they need to prove bonds knew he was taking steroids. someone close to him, say greg anderson, is going to have to give him up in order for that to happen.

no it's official, they are investigating whether he committed perjury ... how's that not an official look into what he's been up to?

does greg anderson have any credibility left though? if he ends up being the key witness against bonds, bonds' lawyers will have a field day with that. there will be no way to prove if he's telling the truth or covering his ass. and if he does try to come out against bonds, it wouldn't surprise me if conte steps in in support of him. then it's just a he said he said kinda deal and there won't be any way to get any solid proof.

no charges have been pressed is what i meant. they can look into it all they want. i'm just saying, they're looking at the same stuff now that they've had to look at for two year now. perjury is a tough thing to prove and to bring up charges of, so until they feel they can do that, it's just the media blowing things out of proportion as far as i'm concerned.

yeah, it certainly won't be easy. i'm hoping they find something though, not because i want the guy to go to jail or anything but because there's significant evidence that he's cheating the game and it's records and it would mean a lot to the game of baseball if he is finally caught.

seriously though, what is this significant evidence? he's a little bigger?
this just all seems like a big witch hunt to me. you guys have no proof that he did anything. and if the feds come back and say there's no evidence? it doesnt matter. you guys still wont believe it. im tired of everyone jumping on the "i hate bonds" bandwagon.

Except when they find out he took them.....The Feds are going to knock this one out of the park faster than a juiced up baseball player...

not true.
he admitted to taking them. they know that much. it's the word 'knowingly' that is gonna make it near impossible to bring perjury charges against him.
if someone says they didn't know what they were taking, how do you prove they did? that would take some pretty rock solid evidence to prove, and it's hard to believe that if that evidence exists that it hasn't surfaced in the past two years.
i would be extremely surprised to see anything brought against him. and if charges are pressed, i wouldn't expect that to be done any sooner than a year from now. investigations like this take a lot of time.
i think the biggest impact this has on anything is the mitchell investigation that mlb is doing. with the federal government investigating, that's gonna close off access to a lot of things mitchell would need to prove anything.
so, when all is said and done, both the government's and mlb's investigations will end up nowhere.

eh if just one more person hates bonds because of this, it was all worth it.
