CNN.com (http://money.cnn.com/2006/04/12/commentary/mediabiz/index.htm) recently wrote an article on the success of music cellphone ringtones.
i dont see why people dont take a couple hours of their time and try and figure out how to make ringtones for their phone.
waste at most 2 hours figuring your phone out, and getting any song, and any part as a ringtone, for free.....or paying 2 or more dollars for whatever your subscriber offers?
but yea...i kinda agree with ringtones being a way to promote other bands. but i dont see ringtones sales going up.... i think more people will begin to catch on to how to make their own

Listening to music?? On phones?? Oy vey.
This makes me get all scared of the future, when we have a little box that fits in our pocket and it has a credit card, a TV, an mp8 player, Internet access. . .shoot, you won't even need a TV, you can watch TV over the Internet.
But we still don't have flying cars.

Seriously.. I have friends who have gotten $300 cell phone bills b/c they are morons and bought so many ringtones.. and I have been making my own ringtones for 3 or 4 years now, it's as easy as cutting up an mp3 file and getting it onto your phone, why bankrupt yourself for ringtones?

most people dont/wont have or take the time necessary to make their own ringtones whether they are just too lazy or dont know how to. its very simple to d/l a ringtone, and i'm all for it if it can help out some of the artists that could use the $$. its a matter of choice, and i'm happy to pay $2.50 if i can hear anberlin everytime my phone rings.

Nothing could be more annoying than some idiots loud ass special ringtone going off next to you. Its a phone people, its supposed to ring and then you pick it up. Tell me why again you have to have a special ringtone, a pisspoor version of a song, at that?

seriously, it doesn't take a genius to figure out how to make a ringtone. I can't believe people buy these. the only excuse is if your phone doesn't have miniUSB or bluetooth.
