Wilco (http://www.absolutepunk.net/wilco/) is currently writing new material and will be in the studio next month to do some recording. There is no timetable yet for the new album and all they have as of now are perhaps a dozen and a half demos.

I have heard two new songs from the Spring tour and they were amazing. One song was "Maybe the Sun Will SHine Today".

As long as its better than a ghost is born.

That album was quite disappointing in comparison to Yankee Hotel Foxtrot.

it was a completely different album from yankee hotel, though. you can't really compare the two. a ghost... reminded me more of albums lke summer teeth and being there. it would be nice if they put out an album as good as yankee hotel, though.

summerteeth is an unheralded gem next to yankee hotel foxtrot...i love it to pieces.

i love em all, but summerteeth will always be my favorite. AM is amazing. theyre all so different. i so cant wait.

I really have faith that Tweedy's musical prowess will carry this band regardless of their direction on the next album. I think ANY of their past albums have some amazing qualities. True, A Ghost is Born may be easier to pick on than the rest of the lot, but listen to the "A Ghost" tracks on their live "Kicking Television" disc (s)...those songs hold up.

i agree. it's really a matter of whether the individual listener leans more toward pop, alt-country, or abstract. yankee hotel foxtrot will always be my favorite wilco record, but each album is such a gem i can't help but appreciate them all individually. every other band could drop off the face of the planet if wilco could continue to make music forever. more realistically, i do hope they continue for decades to come.

i'm really kicking myself for being on tour and away from home this month during their spring tour. it's been three years since i last saw wilco play and they're the most breathtaking live band i've had the pleasure of seeing.

I was wasn't a big fan of A Ghost... but I really liked Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. My favorite Wilco album is definatly A.M.

But I definatly agree with this. But no matter whatever style of music they fit into, they will always be one of my favorites.

it's really a matter of whether the individual listener leans more toward pop, alt-country, or abstract.

yea probably one of my top3 bands of all time. I love A Ghost Is Born, Wilco could have put out any album after Yankee Hotel Foxtrot and it still would have gotten the shaft. A Ghost Is Born is a solid fucking album, extremely sold....the only song that really pisses me off is Spiders (Kidsmoke)...that has to be one of my least favorite Wilco songs of all time.....i tihnk the melody on Hummingbird is one of the best theyve written. At Least Thats What You Said is a fucking classic in my opinion. OOO and ill be seeing them at Lollapalooza.
