Like really does anyone think it is cool to hate Radiohead or Sigur Ros, when they are both huge and have plenty of shitty fans? I think plenty of dislike towards bands that have gotten larger, has to do with a decrease in the quality of music or a change in the music, not the fact they are the "in" thing.

The Gaslight Anthem is an amazing band and both The '59 Sound and Sink or Swim are great albums. Especially The '59 Sound. They aren't just a fad band...so what's with the hate?

I love the first half or so, then it trails off. Although, I haven't given the last half much of a chance really; the same thing happened for me when Tell All Your Friends came out, then I finally got around to listening to the whole thing more and loved it. So who knows.

Eh, I also don't get the TGA hate; hating for the sake of popularity is ridiculous and immature. But I think this band has plenty of lasting value in my eyes. I actually didn't like The '59 Sound on first listen and it grew on me until now, where I've been playing it consistently for months. A band like The Maine and their music has little (if any) lasting value to me, but TGA's at least doing something a little less cliche than every Fueled By Ramen artist.

really? well, i might try to give it another spin, see if it changes. most of the time, shit happens and i found myself liking a record i found decent before.
