Which would you pick if you had to?
Sure there's probably been a poll for this already.

Music or not, deaf is the way to go. I'd much rather see, than hear. Hearing impaired people are still pretty much 95% normal people. Blind is just a straight up pain in every sense of the word. I don't even KNOW what the last two are.

I don't know what the last two are, but I picked ageusia.

Aguesia, doesn't really matter if I can't taste as long as I can still eat.

Ageusia is the loss of taste, and anosmia is loss of smell

Ageusia.

Anosmia because I can hardly smell anything to begin with, really bad sense of smell

anosmia. Easy choice here. I love music, I like to see and I like the taste of food. I like to smell, but not as much as the other three.

well damn, i change my answer to anosmia then. That's like an insurance policy for horrid farts.

You have to keep in mind though, that 50% of the taste of food is from smell, so flavors would change completely. Like when you have a cold and your nose is stuffed up and nothing tastes quite right

Vision is the one I could do without the most. Taste and smell are too important when it comes to the consumption of food and beverages. Hearing goes hand in hand with my music. I could still be a guitarist if I'm blind. You know what I mean?

Without taste, maybe Americans would eat healthier, lose some weight and no longer be known as the most obese nation.

Good point. I think I still might rather lose smell and 50% of taste than lose sight, hearing, or full taste. That would be so depressing. What did you choose?

I chose hearing, its really so sad to think about because music is so huge in my life, but I'm planning to be a cook so smell and taste are really indispensable and I think being blind would be more debilitating than being deaf. Although the thought of losing music really makes me sad. This is a terrible question why did I even make this poll hahahah

This is a really sad question!!! It's more understandable for you to not want to give up smell and taste if you're looking to become a chef. I'm a musician so I couldn't really give up my hearing. But either way, let's be glad we don't have to make this sort of sacrifice anytime soon.

Not being able to taste would probably be rather beneficial to me. If I couldn't taste, I'd probably end up eating healthier foods. Don't see how that'd be a bad thing. And I'd like to be able to hear music, voices, etc and not being able to see would be a pain in the ass because so many things I do are dependent on sight.

I had to google the last two, haha. But at least I didn't ask? I went with anosmia. My sense of smell isn't the greatest anyway
Had I known what Ageusia is, I would have chosen that over deaf

Blind.
- People feel bad for you.
- You can date a totally ugly person and not know, so the field is widened.
- You can still enjoy music [this is a music site, isn't it?].
- You get to wear sunglasses and not be made fun of.
Plus, I've already seen a lot of beautiful things in my life, so memories can take it from there.

No, think about it, without taste you can eat celery and apples the rest of your life and be healthy... medicine isn't hard to swallow (liquid) you can buy cheap juice, you can eat healthy!!!

Not having your sense of smell would suck at first, but you'd get use to it. And food would taste normal again.

i chose to not smell, those smell is linked directly to taste so it messes with both, but without a sense of smell you can still taste if things are sweet, salty etc so you can still taste generally and the other ones are pretty important to every day life, who the hell would pick blind?

This should have just been between blind and deaf because i can't think of anyone that would trade in their sight or hearing (especially on a music forum) for taste or smell.

I would pick one of the later two because i couldn't live without sight or hearing imo, just something i dont wanna give up. Taste and smell are a different story, i would easily say that i would lose smell over taste but then from wikipedia (who is obviously the most trustworthy site) says that "Loss of olfaction (sense of smell) may lead to the loss of libido" which makes it a harder choice. i still choose smell tho
