As a matter of fact, yes.
Chad Gilbert was their second vocalist between Damien Moyal and Geert Van der Velde.
If you want to hear him, I can send you some of the material with him on it. He's primarily on Hearts Once Nourished With Hope and Compassion and some of the demo material.
Personally, I think that the material with Geert is stronger, but they were still awesome with Chad Gilbert.
I am not a fan of NFG, and never really was, but I've heard a lot of good things about them as people. I respect them for that.
However, I do date back with Shai Hulud.
Haha, when I heard that they were going to be active again as Shai Hulud, I thought I was going to shit my pants off.

Haha, maybe, but I didn't see that anywhere. I also don't personally think it affects the powerful nature of their music.
