More Well Known: Mark or Tom

i had a pretty good discussion with my friends the other day about who is more well known, recognizable, etc. Mark Hoppus or Tom Delonge?

Now although most people would say they "LIKE" mark more....thats not the point. I say Tom Delgone is known more. Discuss

I think mark is. Twitter,Atticus, himynameismark, and all his work with All Time Low and FOB make him more recognized in the mainstream.

Sure Tom has Modlife and Macbeth, but If you're on Modlife then chances are you're an A&A fan already.

I love Angels and Airwaves, but they've never seemed that big around where I live.

Tom has A&A (I'll put Modlife within that because it really isn't a different group). Mark's work as a producer and his CONSTANT appearances/work with Wentz made me vote for him. Additionally, Mark has viral (twittering, himynameismark) on lock and there's also some buzz around him possibly working with Panic on their next album. This was definitely close, but I have to go Mark.

I also found his face to stick out most when I think of What's My Age Again (the video). Though Tom's sticks out most when I think of All The Small Things (the video)...

I think that to begin with, Tom was more well known, but Mark's really put himself out there since blink split, if you'd asked when blink were still together or even straight after with the controversy around AvA but then Mark really kicked it up a notch. He was on Meet the Barkers, HyMyNameIsMark, working with every band under the pop-rock sun. Where as Tom seemed to cloister himself around AvA and his band.

However, on the same token, after blink Broke up, I kept tabs on mark, and couldn't have cared less about Tom so my answer is biased.

i think the answer is Tom Delonge....altough mark does a lot of technical work for other bands, i just tend to think that Tom's face is just flat out more recognizable. Sure AvA is more popular than plus44, but I just think when Tom Delonge is attached to a project it's a bigger deal. He's the more obnoious one, the bigger asshole, the more childish one back in the day, and he has an overall image. Mark is just a normal guy, normal sounding, normal acting.

Without a doubt, Tom is but I assume many people are voting for Mark because they simply don't like Tom.

Tom has been the leader/lead singer of Box Car Racer, Angels & Airwaves and of course blink-182 among other things. His whiney voice made him even more famous and his story of being kicked out of school and what not.

Mark is blink-182, getting some fame obviously but not as much as Tom, started +44 which was much more of a flop than AVA and he doesn't have much outside that besides being the much more respected member of blink. He has only recently started producing albums, which doesn't get much surface.

So just because my opinion differs from yours I'm an idiot? I'm from Australia so I don't know about what it's like in America, but around here more people know mark. +44 got a lot more radio/TV play than AvA, and not only that but Mark's been doing a lot more stuff. He was on Meet The Barkers, he's worked with other bands, he was in the "I Don't Care" video and isseen a lot with Pete Wentz. FOB is huge in Australia and that boosted him heaps. Not only that, but Tom's been a bit cloistered for the past few years in case you hadn't noticed. His infamy was locked onto the internet and anyone online reading about Tom already knew about Blink and probably knew all members.

So lets take aside for a sec, the fact that you think I have to be a Tom Hater or an Idiot. Wouldn't that imply that to have your opinion, you'd have to be a Tom Lover. Ie. Pull your fucking head in. You sound like a moron.

I went with Tom though because: 1.I knew who he was before Mark. 2. He appeared to become more known with Angels & Airwaves 3. He is the worshiped by a character in a BBC show.
