i hear there's going to be an easter egg on it called 'watch as the singer from the used washes his hair for the first time in his entire life'

Cottage Cheese
04/16/06, 09:46 AM
It will also have footage of the singer flirting with 15 year old girls and ask them "wanna pretend your 18 tonight?"

im in the used nation and jeph posts entries every month or so.
heres some info on the new album.

"We haven't decided on a producer for the new album yet. I think were going to write some new songs first, then interview some peeps and see who we "vibe"with the most. I'm so excited about this record I know it's going to be twice as good as the last one. I really have a good feeling about the future of The Used."

yea what the fuck asshole. what's wrong with canadian shows?

anyways, seems like forever since we heard news about the used. all ive been hearing are all the bands they've been producing.

i miss the used, i hope they go back to some of their older sounding stuff. don't get me wrong, i liked love and death...but i think they could do better.

I wonder how bands pick where to film these DVDs.

Jack's Mannequin, Irving Plaza NYC
Yellowcard, Electric Factory, PA
Coheed and Cambria, Starland Ballroom, NJ
Something Corportate, Fillmore, CA
etc, etc

Some make sense (SoCo being from Cali) but then sometimes you wonder.. why would Yellowcard pick Philly?

I still don't know why they picked the PNE Forum for filming a DVD. It's pretty much just a glorified horse corral.

A lot of it has to do with the venue. Most places charge the band extra (venue-origination fees and local union costs for recording) if they want to record what they perform, and some places are cheaper than others. At least that's how it is with recording sound, but I'm pretty sure that video would work the same way.

As for this DVD...maybe a year ago I would've been more excited. Right now I'd rather have a new album...or some solid news on a new album, rather than a live DVD. I'll probably buy it...just not right as soon as it comes out.

That's logical.

But you'd think certain places would be used over-and-over if it was a cheap place. The Used are from the West (Utah?) so you'd think they'd use one of the MANY great venues out there.

You'd expect a Canadian band to film in Canada. I wonder if the record labels have some sort of agreements. This would be a great topic to get insight on, Jared, Jason, and AP Staff who have the ability to talk to people in the know.

because philly is fucking awesome. they thought maybe people would be like, 'wow, philadelphia is so cool, it almost makes me forget how retarded this band is. it sure is a good thing they have a violin player who plays through a guitar amp, because it's completely necessary and sounds nothing like a guitar that way. oh wait.' but it didn't work. true story

I guess im really fucking tone deaf, because his voice along with the band alone is probally one of the best things that have ever happend to me and music and general. Dont mean to sound lame, but i remember just sitting on my computer for months listening to their first cd over and over. I was really let down with their last cd, but i think this one is going to be amazing. Their S/T was the best cd ever created.

I'm not sure at what point a majority of people liked The Used. Their lyrics are on par with Hawthorne Heights, and Bert's voice is TERRIBLE. The only reason they "got succesful" is because of Kelly Osbourne. The Used blow now, they will always blow. Accept this.

this is sort of a desperate ploy for money. who else comes out with a live CD/DVD after their first album, then come out with an album just to release another DVD. THE USED is amazing, but they need to stop doing drugs (that means you Burt), get back in the fucking studio, and make another fucking awesome CD before they can start peddling another live this-or-that. Fuck, guys.

Please live up to your potential.

Hahaha. First: you're just realizing this now? Second: since when were the Used ever successful? People stopped giving a shit when Bert's throwing up on stage stopped being "cool." The Used are gimmick through and through. Awesome, revolutionary, worthwhile, they are not, as can be seen by the "response" their second album got.

i dont think him dating her got them anything... i think putting out good music did that.

I'm not a huge fan of band DVDs...and considering The Used's position right now, thet should get in studio. Like...NOW.
As for the which-venue-shall-we-film discussion, it definately is an equation of money needed and band success.
