What Do You Think Of Extra's in Punk?

What do you guys think of the extra things bands put in their music, like Yellowcard with the Violin and Dropkick with their bagpipes and so on....

i think it is wonderful, yellowcard would sound like all the other bands without their violin, it gives them extra personality and makes them unique, and dropkick murpheys are great how are you supposed to be that irish and not play the bagpipes, ultimately i think that extras are good- if you use them right

depends on how you use it. it seems like every band is using a string section nowadays which is getting rather old.

Yea i think yellowcard is ok with their violins and what not, but yea it did take some time to get used to. Soco does really suck tho, i cant stand them, if they didnt have their piano they would still suck.

i think cursive did it the right way, they incorporated the chello into their music, and it really added to the effect, yellowcard is just pop-punk, with a violen playing during some parts
