Probably one of the least talked about bands on the Solid State records roster despite having a solid debut album. They have a new album coming out September 8th which I'm hoping is just as great.
Discuss.

Remove the Earth was okay, nothing too special though.

I didn't find this band's music that interesting either. However, some of my friends that do enjoy this band will be stoked to hear about their upcoming album.

I really enjoy Remove the Earth. Naked and Cold is good as well.
That said, I don't think Solid State is the best label for them. I could see them getting a lot more recognition if they weren't being marketed to Solid State's mostly metalcore following.

Did Naked And Cold leak or something?
Yeah, I've thought about that before too. I don't know what other label would be good for them though.

No, the title track is up on their myspace. I could see them doing well on Facedown. Granted, their roster is no less generic but they have a slightly more "hardcore" following.

Oh duh, sorry, haha.
True, Facedown probably would be better. I think they're on Solid State though because Beloved used to be signed to them (Some of Beloved's former members are in Advent).

Yeah. I just hope they don't get too bogged down by the stigma that comes with being signed to Solid State. I don't necessarily think it's a bad label, but you don't see many music fans over the age of 17 take them or any of their bands very seriously.

Really into this band, extremely heavy hardcore. The new album is going to rip. Really nice guys, really good live, and their lyrics are schools better then any christian heavy band, unapologetic and honest.

I like this band, but when I saw them live I mentioned that I liked Beloved too and I got a deathstare from one of the guitarist's.

I'm hopefully gonna see them Sept. 11th with Call To Preserve, so good to know they're great live.

That's a good show! All the guys in CTP and Advent are all really nice, but yeah, I've seen Advent twice at Cornerstone.
They are so heavy live, I was really impressed. It was really loud. One of the times I saw them they did a cover set of songs by Figure Four and Stretch Arm Strong among others. So crazy.

Oh, I know it's gonna be good. There's gonna be some of my favorite local bands playing that show too, so I'll enjoy it even more.
Crap, if it's loud that's probably gonna be insane in this venue they're gonna play at here. It's kinda small I think, but I guess I wouldn't know since I've just seen youtube videos from shows at that venue. Those covers must have been sick!

They're just really downtuned so it makes everything so much more intense, I'm sure if they're in a small venue they won't be playing as loud as they did at the festival I was at. Sick, you should link me to the locals! I love checking stuff out.
I just finished listening to the new songs on the myspace. Previously, I had only heard Overcome. The three new songs have gotten me so damn excited for this.

Haha, they should still play as loud. I wouldn't mind, i'd just probably be deaf after the fact :-d
Okay, here's the locals:
http://www.myspace.com/gravesfl
http://www.myspace.com/patriarchsmusic
http://www.myspace.com/ascendthehill
That last band is like an indie/worship band, yet they still get on all these shows with hardcore and metalcore bands. If there's a show at that venue it's gonna be at, they're usually there.
I've only listened to one of the songs and I can't even remember what it sounded like. I'll have to go listen again.

Graves sounds like they have potential! I like how more hardcore bands are popping up in christian music, hopefully there's a wider variety at cornerstone next year. Ascend The Hill strikes me like they'd be good live (assuming you're a christian?), yes or no?
Anyway, go check out those songs, I back them greatly. Their lyrics line up with what I believe pretty strongly.

Graves is great live. I've seen them before in an even smaller venue than the one this show is gonna be at. Nah, I'm not really christian, I'd say I'm agnostic.
I shall go check them out right now good sir!

Haha, I gave it a listen today, and it definitely brings the heavies. It's a good jam. It does get a little repetitive, and I don't think the vocals are anything special, but I think that might just come with a few more listens.
Anyways my verdict is

Yeah, I know what you mean, it certainly is repetitive. The new tracks on the myspace sound a great deal better in my opinion.

I'm listening to Remove the Earth, and it's certainly a good CD, but something about it just feels dull. Maybe that's just because I'm on a laptop, though; I'm sure some of the energy gets lost along the way.
The new songs sounded pretty sweet, so I'll probably pick this up on Tuesday.
EDIT: Woah... Ryan Clark is on "Hanging the Giants"? Sick.

Remove The Earth is slightly dull at first, but it does improve. The songs of Naked and Cold are sounding 1000000000x better though, so I suggest picking it up also!

The vocals on the new songs are so sick.
So, Joe is playing drums for the Almost now, I guess? That's two former members of Beloved in that band now. Hopefully that doesn't distract from Advent too much, but Aaron's in Underoath anyways, so I doubt that'll be an issue.

Yeah, Joe told me about that. Advent rarely tour although that may change if this is successful, so I'm really hoping it doesn't distract, but as you said: if Aaron can handle Underoath and this, I'm sure the Advent boys will be fine.

Nope, I didn't go because I didn't know anyone else who was going and I didn't want to be at a show by myself. I probably could have found someone I knew there if I would have went, but I just didn't.
I wish now that I would have went because that could very well have been the only opportunity for me to see them.

Yeah it's all good dude never say never. The new album is tight, and even though the vocalist is in The Almost now that still isn't a full time thing with Aaron being in Underoath too.
