I'm taking AP US History and currently we're studying the American Revolution. My extremely special and bipolar teacher wondered how the British feel about the American Revolution. I mean, we only study our side of the story. What do the British history books say about us? How do you guys feel about it?

Never studied it in my school, though that's not to say other people will have had the same experience.
From what I recall, I studied both world wars at some length, some British political history (really boring stuff), and then quite a bit of Russian history in 6th form.

In favour of learning about our involvement in two worldwide conflicts, the history of our own political system, and the history of Russia between the late 19th and mid 20th centuries. Seems reasonable.

Haha.
Its true though. Considering we've only been an established nation for... what 233 years?
We may feel invincible now, but when the momentum runs out, another nation will leap to the top of the pecking order, just like it has always happened.

Yeah, that stuff is more important, I guess. But you guys still need to know about George Washington and Benedict Arnold and the Whig party!!

I wouldn't say we need to.
Those of us with an interest can and will learn about it in our own time.

They probably thought we were arrogant pricks then, just like they do now.
Just like most of us are.

Name (1) the first British ruler; (2) a famous British traitor, and (3) an old British political party that lasted two decades before fizzling out.

I know, but I still think it should be taught. We are sorta important too.
