well, I just got back home from the show at Slim's and my ears are functioning at about 15%.
My Chemical Romance was pretty cool, they played most all of their goods songs, they played a new one called "This Isn't A Fashion Statement, It's A Fucking Death Wish", or at least that's what he said, it sounded like the rest of their stuff. The only bad part was that, all their songs sounded the same, it sounded like they were just up there wailing on their guitars, it just sounded like noise, meh.
Recover was okay, they didn't seem into it at all. Probably because no one wanted to see them. Sad but true, they played two or three songs then asked what people wanted to hear, someone shouted "Taking Back Sunday". . . funny, but rude, but still funny, about three or four people out of about four hundred in the club shouted some songs, then some people started yelling "Freebird", so they played some songs, and were like "well, this is what you wanna hear so we're gonna play it". . .meh, they were kinda dumb. Decent band, just that no one wanted to hear them.
From Autumn To Ashes was up, and I hated it. I can't stand that screaming, there were tons of people that apparently liked it, like all those crazy emo spin-kicking, slam dancing crazies. But, there were about three notes that the singer hit, that I could feel my ears about to burst, I can stand some loud shit, but that was just horrid. That's okay if you like them, but for me, it was horrible, the best part was when they said "this is our last song" and I was happy, I was happier, when they stopped playing in the middle of the song and said "okay, we ran out of time, it happens sometimes, so we'll have an acoustic guitar outside, so we'll finish the song then". . . good, later.
Finally, Taking Back Sunday was up, they had some crazy Asian thing going on, with some lamps and stuff, . . I dunno, but Adam was back in good health, last time I saw them he still had his cane, and had to sit around but this time he was goin' crazy. They played the new song, the slow one last time they called it their "slow song" the one with the chorus that goes "cross my heart and hope to . . . ." I like it, they played the Ballad of Sal, which they didn't play last time, and I really like that song, and Your Own Disaster which was cool. The really cool part was Brian from FATA proposed to his g/f, before Your Own Disaster, it was cool, he gave a little speech about how bands never really have anything permanent and things are always changing, and he wanted to introduce someone who he wanted to be more permanent and asked for his g/f to come out on stage and everybody started cheering cuz they knew what was gonna happen, and then he got down on one knee, and then soon enough he put the ring on her finger and they kissed, so I guess she said yes. So, hugs went around and then TBS continued playing.
There were two stupid fucks who kept heckling TBS and Adam put them in their place, it was funny shit. The first time he was like "What? Who said that? Shut the fuck up. Hey, when you have the microphone, I'll listen to what you have to say" then later, he said "Allright whoever said that, you seriously need to shut up. People didn't pay twelve bucks to hear you, so shut the fuck up." And everyone cheered :D
