View Full Version : I need two things your favorite screamo band and best acoutsic band songs
So here is what I'm looking for I want bands with a ton of screaming think along the lines of Underoath They're Only Chasing Safety.
And second I need some really good acoustics because when I'm in a chilled out mood I don't have anything satisfying enough. Think along the lines of Dropout Years all acoutsic album, Jamestown Story, and jsut acoustic remakes of songs like Senses Fail Rum is for Drinkin Not For Burning(acoustic)
Really appreciate it guys thanks-the kid who needs some new music

I need two things your help and something to put out fires
So here is what I'm looking for I accidentally was playing with butter and candlewax but I now that I think About It I Think It Was More Butter.
And so I need someone to go get something that can put out fires like water or a fire extinguisher because the butter has lit on fire and now my stomach is melting like a candle like that song from The White Tie Affair except its not a douche in a parade, its flaming butter sauce.
Really appreciate it guys thanks-the guy who has flaming man boobs

Well I disagree in saying that they're only chasing safety was a metalcore album, so this guy was right in thinking that.
Favorite screamo band? Well I listen to VERY few, but if I were to pick one it'd be Lower Definition. Though they are a bit more technical than most screamo bands. The Greatest Of All Lost Arts was a solid album. Still real sad this band broke up.
Acoustic music? Anything and everything City And Colour.

They're Only Chasing Safety is a metalcore band writing a pop punk album (very much so inspired by Tell All Your Friends) that just happened to have a lot of screaming.
I wish people would learn screamo isnt a genre, usually they are talking about Post Hardcore or Metalcore
Yeah, it is.

True. I'd say that album is Post-Hardcore. It's also their weakest with Spencer.

Love the album, but I agree it's their weakest with Spencer. And that it's Post Hardcore.

They've definitely been a band who continues to improve. I can't get into anything pre-Spencer though.

Yeah they really have. And I haven't really gotten that into their earlier deathcore stuff with Dallas, but I enjoy The Chasing of Times.

Actually, post hardcore is a specific genre that doesn't really apply to Underoath. I think there might be a post hardcore official thread; do a quick search and educate yourself before a regular has to educate you, just for your own good.
Agreed that it's their weakest with Spencer, but I don't even look at it as an Underoath album. Because of the pop punk sound and Aaron's strong role in songwriting, it makes more sense as the first album from the Almost. Also, Define the Great Line makes a lot of sense as the follow-up to The Changing of Times.
(Really, though, I don't care about this band anymore besides a few songs from The Changing of Times and Lost in the Sound of Separation, and maybe They're Only Chasing Safety a little for nostalgia's sake.)
As Blood Runs Black, My Bitter End, Haste The Day, Botch
Kevin Devine, Damien Jurado
Finally a Botch shout out well done
Good bands: Oceana, the Chariot, Therefore I Am, a lot of people dont like them but I still recommend Of Machines

they're only chasing safety is what i would call post-hardcore.
whereas define the great line and lost in the sound of separation would be metalcore.

I don't really like screamo as a genre (and LOL at the recommended "screamo" bands such as Under0ath and As Cities Burn), but I've been listening to The Underdark by Funeral Diner quite a bit recently. Doesn't have the typical awful production for a band like that. Also, A Day in Black and White are excellent.

Changing of Times? haha, I think you accidently mixed the name with They're Only Chasing Safety.
I'm honestly not a fan of anything other than TCOT, but Underoath is decent. If you want good screaming, check out Verse or the old As Cities Burn stuff, although I highly suggest you listen to all of As Cities Burn's material.

Yes i agree with whomever said Of Machines they are amazing I'm going to see them soon and can't wait Oceana is good to they're new album birtheater is incredible so much better than Tides they really matured as a band.
Also im sorry but I have to say that Screamo is a genere. But is a break off of post-hardcore and punk. Thats just my opinion. Also to include the fact that it is a dying breed and is slowly making its way out the door unfortunately, at least the bands that made it what it is, it is changing to much and becoming dull and dry. Just as it is with bands such as all time low and we the kings they are so generic its getting annoying.
