View Full Version : Who is the best singer?

Who is the best singer, not your favorite singer, out of these talented dudes?

I chose Dallas Green b/c he is GOD.

I don't think Dallas Green is God, but he has very lush clean vocals, and has a very balanced delivery. Anthony Green is a good vocalist, but I have trouble listening to him for more than about 7 or 8 songs because of his extremely high-pitched piercing vocals. Jonny Craig also is very talented, but he tries too hard.

I am guessing people continue to pick Anthony Green because of Circa and Saosin, but Avalon was ridiculously bland.
Had to go with Dallas. He seems to only improve.
Jonny is talented, but his style so far seems very one dimensional, while Dallas can do both hard and soft music well.

It's Jonny Craig easily. Best best best voice and he had the best platform to use it in while in DGD. No contest.

Green's Saosin is the only Saosin I can listen to. Cove blends in far too much with the riffs. And I don't know the other two, so therefore Anthony gets my vote. But Brandon Boyd kicks the shit out of all three of them.

I went with Craig, because I like how he fluctuates in range and tone. He can sing soft when he wants and get gritty as well. But that takes nothing away from thinking both Greens are phenomenal. I really just enjoy all of them as a whole.

why is anthony green showered with praise? His voice is flatout whiny and he isn't that great of a singer. He sounds exactly like this kid that was in my high school, and everyone thought he was the greatest singer ever but he was just a kid. dallas is an incredible singer, but brandon boyd is the best singer in the world.

I have to agree with him. I didn't like Light Grenades either. It just didn't seem like Incubus to me. It was like, an Incubus rip-off, with Brandon Boyd, minus turntables. Wasn't big on it. Granted that my favorite of theirs is Make Yourself so that might have something to do with it.

it lacked the edge of the previous Incubus efforts and felt, dare I say it, like radio-rock. a forced piece of turd that was placed upon this earth to ruin people's idea of Incubus...it showed little to no progression, musically, and lyrically, it was mediocre at best. def not their best effort.

If you're calling A Kiss To Send Us Off, Rogues, Pendulous Threads, Light Grenades, maybe even Papers Shoes radio-rock, I feel you are extremely mistaken. Yes, there are a few that were meant to be good singles, but what Incubus album hasn't had that?

I will give you Quicksand and A Kiss To Send Us Off. Quicksand was a ridiculous intro for Kiss, and Kiss is just, amazingness encapsulated in 4:16. Dig was moderately decent. I enjoyed it the first few times I heard it, and still kinda do. The remix they do for it live, no words. You have to see it. Your brain will turn to mush. Anna Molly reminded me of a mix between Sick Sad Little World & Beware! Criminal, which I enjoyed and still do. Light Grenades the song, second favorite on the album. All the other ones, kinda fell to the wayside. I love slower Incubus, actually alot of slower, mellower music, but I just couldn't get into the ones on this record. I hated Earth To Bella, both parts. I really can't figure out why. I listened to them my first few listens of the CD, then to them one after another a couple times and every time it was the same thought. I can't stand this. I'm looking forward to their next CD hardcore though. They really seemed back when I saw them live, plus I fucking love Black Heart Inertia. It's like Crow all over again, which I really dug.

It doesn't really matter because its just a survey but it's lame that it seems like 2/3 of the people voting don't even know who Jonny Craig is. I feel like before you vote you should have to listen to "And I told them I invented Times New Roman", "Lemon Meringue Tie", "Set it off like napalm" and "What I would give to be Australian".

I love all three vocalists and I am a Circa Survive fan but sometimes I feel like i'm taking crazy pills when I talk to people about Anthony. Dude has one tone! He's a good singer for sure but as far as being able to escalate ranges, tones and vary power I just don't think he really compares to Dallas or Jonny.

Dallas and Jonny are my two favorite singers on the planet but I have to give the nod to Jonny because when he is singing heavier songs he can add this amazing grit to his voice while hitting such a high range and thae transfer to this soothing and soulful almost R&B quality instantly. He might not have written songs quite up to the caliber of some of Dallas's work yet but he's in his very early 20's and I think when its all said and done he will be known of one of the greats period not just in the "scene"

I also love the I haven't heard of these guys but Brandon Boyd kicks there ass comments. First off that's ignorant and retarded and second Brandon has lost the passion in his vocals. I was a big fan of Incubus in high school and went to a ton of shows. They still occasionally have some good tracks but I just feel like Brandon especially has been phoning it in and have just been bored to death by a lot of the newer songs.

I think that's their thing. Just so they don't have the same album twice in a row and critics talk smack about no progression or something. Which makes me just think that, the next cd, will be like Crow and Make Yourself. Which if Black Heart Inertia was an indication, means I will definitely enjoy the hell out of it.
