Judging by that statement and your username, I guess you assume that the only good music is what's played on the radio? There's so much great music created by "no-name bands," and just because a band doesn't break into the mainstream doesn't mean they're not talented or worth talking about. I guarantee there are bands that none of us have ever heard of that are infinitely better than The Fray or Maroon 5. I'm definitely not saying this to try to defend my own unsigned band, I'm just making the point that there's absolutely nothing wrong with discussing "no-name bands" on the internet, especially since there are great acts can't rely on television or radio to spread their music. God forbid we should use the internet to share information that we can't get on MTV.

Why? This site was predicated on scene music/mainstreamo/the bastardization of Post-Hardcore/Metalcore. It's always been that way, and there's a very marginalized sect of music that's promoted here. What made you think this was a site for "underground bands?" Do you go to, say, Unsound or Punknews and bitch about the lack of mainstream coverage? It's incongruous of you to expect something from a site that's the complete opposite of what it's mission statement is. Go to sites that provide coverage of the music you like. Don't come here expecting someone to talk about John Zorn.

Why? This site was predicated on scene music/mainstreamo/the bastardization of Post-Hardcore/Metalcore. It's always been that way, and there's a very marginalized sect of music that's promoted here. What made you think this was a site for "underground bands?" Do you go to, say, Unsound or Punknews and bitch about the lack of mainstream coverage? It's incongruous of you to expect something from a site that's the complete opposite of what it's mission statement is. Go to sites that provide coverage of the music you like. Don't come here expecting someone to talk about John Zorn.
