why wont custom avatar show

i'm having the same problem. my image is within 50x50, and under 50.kb. it's also a jpg. i don't know what else i have to do to make it work. i can upload it, but when i check out a thread, it says i have "no avatar."

Me too... I tried both .jpg and .gif. I made sure the images were 50x50 or under and under 50kb. I even tried using an avatar that someone else is using. Nothing works.

But even though the avatar doesn't show in the forums, it does show in my control panel.

Sounds like these forums are buggy...? How can I work around this?

Mine wasn't working. I uploaded it. And it didn't show. So I left it alone and now it's showing just fine. I don't know what happened.

It takes roughly 60 seconds for it to all synch and work.

Whenever I try to upload a custom avatar I get this error at the top of the screen:

Warning: File upload error - unable to create a temporary file in Unknown on line 0

Then this error as an Absolutepunk.net message in the middle of the screen:

Upload failed due to failure writing temporary file.

Will once again look into fixing this - support message into those that handle that aspect of the website.
