Would've picked The Infamous over Murda Muzik no doubt. Here are some of my adds to everyone else's lists...

Beastie Boys - Paul's Boutique... come on people!
Black Sheep - A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing
Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth - Mecca and the Soul Brother
The Pharcyde - Bizarre Ride II the Pharcyde
Public Enemy - It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back
Souls of Mischief - 93 'Til Infinity... call this backpacker shit or whatever, but you can't deny its classic status.

Out of any Roots album I would put Things Fall apart.

Thats the best.

Kanye no way, he's nothing outstanding even though i love his first album

Common probably the older work although Be is badass too.

We all forgot Black On Both Sides by Mos Def, somehow. I also think Quality by Talib Kweli is borderline.

Aside from what was already mentioned: Souls of Mischief- '93 'Till Infinity.

My friend sent it to me a few months ago and it rules.

Also, the new Ghostface is stellar.
