imo he has a strong, unique voice. Better than all these artists who sound like they are constipated trying to hit the high notes. He can blast it and then some. I think he has some maturing to do, he has the raw talent now he just has to hone it.

but really Johnny Craig is just too overplayed and overrated,
yes he has a very unique voice and talent, but everything he does seems very uninspired.
this solo album from what i've heard really isn't that great, it just seems like it was really rushed and not a very polished recording.

Jonny Craig could do great things. His voice is fantastic. The way he uses it, it seems, just doesn't live up to how good it really is.

I thought the last song on the album was the best. Throughout everything that preceded it, I kept listening and waiting for him to just let it rip with his voice, but he didn't. I was surprised with how chill the whole thing was.

Came in here to say this. The dude is talented, and has a pretty unique voice, but somebody needs to get him focused.

The rest of the album is okay, but not what I was really expecting. I like the rest of his stuff quite a bit though.

I never thought of it that way but I totally agree. The album itself is unimpressive though.

Listened to the album for the first time and I'm pleasantly surprised. Not as boring as I thought it would be and better than Craig Owens EP I think

Or, you could take your own advice and not waste time in a thread discussing an artist you obviously don't care about or even consider worth your time. Why waste your time attempting to convince people an artist they enjoy is mediocre? I mean, I could be called a hypocrite, as I'm posting in this thread and I don't really care for anything Jonny Craig related, but, nothing's going to come of your shitting on this guy in a thread full of people who enjoy him. I don't see anyone being swayed.

I'm tired of hearing people go on and on about this guy. Yeah he's got a good voice, but that's pretty much the only thing he has going for him and it's not that great of a voice to begin with.

I think Jonny Craig is an amazing singer, and i'm a BIG fan of his work, but before you go see him live ever, look at his support and consider whether or not they are worth seeing. it took a grand total of FOURTY-FIVE minutes after Tides of Man got done for Jonny to come on stage, and then he was so far gone, he did three songs sub-par and then threw up on the stage stairs. This isn't the first time this has happened this tour either.

Maybe. it was just a pretty sub-par night last night, MOD SUN killed it, Eye Alaska was in the process of doing so when the bassist's amp blew out mid-set, then they replaced it and then did 2 more songs for a total of 5. Tides of Man wasn't that impressive.

I respect Jonny as an artist, and the talent he shows in his voice. The problem i have with him is that he's rather boring, and he shouldn't of had a whole album to himself. I believe he shines most just doing guest spots for other bands. perhaps if he wasn't boring to listen to, i would listen more. Also i've been hearing more and more he has a cocky ass attitude to his fans

I think he has a great voice too but I agree he needs to clean his act up. Also I like him much better in the bands he's been in than the solo stuff, I think it's kind of boring.

he's an incredible singer, i'll give him that, but his writing is terrible, no structure, no real lyrics, he's just a dick too.
normally i wouldn't rip on anyone because they are obviously playing music for the love of it, and i respect him as a musician, but he's just not good person.
but i do give him props on emarosa's 1st cd with him, and the 1st track on the new cd, but thats about it haha.
IDK what happened to him tho, he was tight back in his DGD days before they got signed, we played shows together, then he got all big headed, as most do, but in a shitty way.
and his solo project is a joke. its a stupid scam ripoff anthony green wannabe to try to make rise and himself money. Anthony pulled it off because that truly was the music he plays on his own time, then craig owens tried to do an anthony style cd, and failed, then jonny tried and failed even harder. he either needs to stick with just the band, or release a cd of what he ACTUALLY plays on his own time...if he even does, not just a wannabe record of failed attempts at ripping off anthony green.
but the main statement on this post, he is a talented singer, and i respect that, he just needs to bring his big ass head down a little.

Lol @ "no real lyrics" and "its a stupid scam ripoff anthony green wannabe." I'm not the biggest fan of Jonny, but one of those is a blatant lie that reveals you haven't listened to this at all, and the other makes no sense.
