Bodyjar have finally called it quits and a doing a farewell tour around Aus (sorry everywhere else)

band has toured US Warped and i first saw them supporting blink-182 in 2000

official statement
"For over a decade Bodyjar have experienced the complete gamut of rock … from playing to 3 people at the humble Tote Hotel, Collingwood to playing in front of 45,000 punters in Korea and selling out shows in Japan. Now they are calling it a day. "It’s been amazing. We've done so much stuff as a band … way more than we ever thought we would. As far as we’re concerned the last studio album Bodyjar made, our self-titled album, was the best of our career. It might not have sold the most copies, but it was brutally honest and it covered a lot of territory, musically and emotionally. It just feels like a good time to put a full-stop on it all. We wanna go out on our own terms. What better way to finish up than with a national tour where we crank out some old tunes one last time and say thanks to all the folks who have supported us over the years." says frontman Cam. And so, one last tour is happening."

Needless to say, I'm upset. Not that suprising though, this has been coming for a while now.

Still, Cola Wars are pretty good so it's not like the guys have given up on creating music alltogether.

Yeah, there was talk of a new record but I guess it just never took off.

I feel like these guys never got the recognition they deserved, outside of Australia at least. Which is a real shame as they have written some really good songs.

This is upsetting. Such a good band :-( However, it's nice to see they're continuing with music.

For Amusement only! i have both their EP's on computer. :-)

This was obviously coming, they haven't toured much in the last few years. Can't wait to see their final show in Melbourne.

Sad news, but Cola Wars does sound pretty cool and promising. The intro to Belgian Border reminds me of Get Free by The Vines. Does Cola Wars have any officially released stuff or MP3s to download? You guys from Austrailia would probably know best.

They have an EP they put out under their old name "Daughters Of The Rich", which can be bought from here: http://www.colawars.org/store/

They also have an album that should be coming out later this year.

Would you mind posting them? I could never seem to track them down.

Pretty pissed that they aren't doing a canberra show though. What's with that?

How It Works is still one of my favorite albums. I can still remember first hearing "Not The Same" on Tony Hawk's Pro Skater. Not surprising like most others said but it's still a bummer

Just spun Plastic Skies...so good. One of my Top 5 Pop Punk albums. The S/T album is pretty good, too.

I bought 'how it works' after hearing 'not the same' on tony hawks, which was awesome. I've only listened to the album a couple of times, I should give it another spin soon.
