..the most underrated Rock band ever?

Fu Manchu maybe, hard question. Reuben are underrated, but they're still "up and coming". Mastodon are incredible, but they get a lot of love from the critics. Million Dead were great, but they broke up. Mudvayne make some incredible music, and get lumped with nu-metal bands, thats just wrong. Queens Of The Stoneage have released 3 amazing albums, but only one got known by the public. Rival Schools should be mentioned, aswell as Transistor Transistor. And I always think Vaux are underrated, they make such fantastic music.

These are all somewhat modern bands though. Of all time is too hard.

I don't care if people enjoy Mudvayne, but they are no where near the most underrated rock band EVER.

Yeah, I meant to say that I don't think they're underrated or whatever, but I agree that it's bullshit they're lumped in the nu-metal catergory.

Yeah, I wouldn't say that they were underrated by anymeans.

Well considering I could probably go around and do poll of twenty people and only two or three will have barely heard of them and then hopefully maybe one will be somewhat familiar with the music. Hence how I came to my assumption.

I think everybody knows who Iggy Pop is.

And they might not know who the MC5 is, but if you asked everyone who knows them, they'd rate them very highly.

Therefore, they can't be underrated, maybe underrecognized though, but that's not the subject of this thread is it?

You would be incorrect in that thought or you're living in some kind of fantasy land that I am completely unaware of. Most people that I've asked about MC5 and knew who they were said they were mediocre, something I disagree with but that's for another time.

So I am going to stick with my original opinion that in the overall these two bands are for the most part underrated.

that is so true.

Cave In are terribly under-rated, I mean, what the fuck?! they are easily one of the best bands to come out of Boston.

Your friends don't qualify as the consensus of the music-appreciating world.

Any reputable music critic/journalist or magazine claims the MC5 as one of the main catalysts of the punk movement and their debut live album as one of the best of all time.

Who cares if 21st century adolescents think they're only OK?
