I am bumping this because I strongly feel that if you haven't heard her, you are missing out big-time.

If anybody needs any samples, I will even get them to you. If you like Mike Hedges, I have a feeling you will enjoy (or at least appreciate) this.

Fantastic musician, i remember when i first saw her play "playing with pink noise" on Jools Holland its blew me away.

If you like Kaki you should also check out Andy Mckee, he has a similar style when playing the guitar.

I saw her in Manchester a few weeks ago and she was incredible. There were only two people on stage (her and a backup renegade guy) but the music they produced and the multi layers were just amazing. She really doesn't get the credit she deserves.

Dreaming of Revenge is one of my records of 08.

Sure, she is super super talented... but this music gets really old really fast for me. It's like a novelty.

She's a good guitarist but I really don't think I'd ever listen to her.

Explain, Fest AIDS as we hijack this thread into talking aobut The Mezingers.

Fest AIDS is a disease contracted after returning from the Fest. It is caused by poor eating habits and in some cases drinking. I haven't been able to breathe correctly since Sunday. :-p It's what I get for standing around smokers all day and only eating taco bell on saturday and sunday.

I heard Kaki King is a big fan of THE MENZINGERS (http://www.myspace.com/themenzingers). They should go back to claiming Scranton. Just because they moved to Philly that doesn't mean shit.

Want her EP with The Mountain Goats. Damn limited edition BS and I didn't get a change to grab it! :-(

what have you heard? most of her stuff isnt like "playing with pink noise" -- check out "neanderthal" or "life being what it is"

I've heard the Pink Noise song and Pull Me Out Alive. Will listen to those, but after Pull Me Out Alive hwen it comse to those type of vocals I rather stick to Denali/Rainer Maria..

that particular song i dont like the repetitive nature of the verses but the atmospheric breakouts are good. but seriously, check my recs out. less than half her music has vocals anyway.

The thing is, I don't care for instrumental music like that. The instrumental music I listen to has to be.. a much bigger (sorry can't think of a better word) sound. Same reason I dislike Mogwai, they sound too much like a regular rock band to me.

some of her songs really do create that "bigger" sound, especially on her latest record "dreaming of revenge". i'd recommend you give it a shot.
