no sugarcult thread? weak sauce! well not theirs one! i think Tim Pagnottahas one of the best voices for a pop punk band too. what happened to these guys though! they dropped off the face of the planet, and their last album 'lights out' was legit. they are definitely underrated. talk!!
Edit: watch/listen to their latest single "Do It Alone"

Palm Trees and Power Lines is one of those albums (much like Pollyanna) that will forever remind me of high school. i love to throw that album on when i'm feeling nostalgic.
i never listened to Lights Out, i guess i'll have to give it a shot. anyone know what they're up to these days?

"She's beautiful as usual with bruises on her ego and
Her killer instinct tells her to be aware of evil men
And that's what you get for falling again
You can never get him out of your head"
i can't tell you how long this verse was a permenant fixture on my AIM profile for.
i saw them with Head Automatica, TEN, and Hawthorne Heights my senior year of high school. it was one of the first shows i got to attend without parental supervision, lol.

I found out about that two days too late! Totally bummed me out, haven't seen them since 2006.
Sugarcult are still one of my favorite bands of all time! Haven't listened to them in a while, but I've been breaking out all of their stuff again lately, and Pretty Girl is still an awesome song. Seems like Lights Out is underrated, but I think it's their best album so far. It shows a lot of growth from them, definitely worth checking out.
Basically, they've been on a break for a while now. (From what Marko's been saying, feels like they might start kicking around again in the next year? Maybe. That would be awesome.) Recent interviews on their myspace blog:

yeah the metro show was in spring of 06 1997 & the secret handshake opened, sugarcult played a solid set and sounded great live and then they disappeared.

That wasn't the show I went to, I don't think. It was at House of Blues in September right after Lights Out came out, and I think Halifax and The Spill Canvas opened for them then. And two other bands.

It was pretty good, I think. It's up there on my least memorable shows list, but part of that was because of me. I didn't actually see anyone before the spill canvas because I got there really late, and was with my parents. I talked them into letting me go that evening. It was pretty empty. But Sugarcult seemed not really into it. But I was also alone in the crowd, and really tiny, behind two big burly guys, so I was more concerned with avoiding getting killed than actually enjoying myself.

yeah at the metro show their like "the house of blues has the best showers, but the metro is the best! it's legendary!" haha something along those lines, tim even came into the crowd to sing during "what you say" and a huge circle pit was formed during that song, it was a lot of fun, the band was drinkin and havin a good time feeding off the crowd, i remember tim started to sing "i like big butts and i cant not lie" and the crowd finished the rest of the song. it was definitely a memorable show!
