After seein Crime in Stereo like 4 or 5 times this summer I became a big fan of them so I went to their show last night in Richmond. It was at a small club that I haven't been to before it was kinda secluded and there weren't a lot of people there but it was a pretty cool place, hopefully it can keep doing shows.
All the bands that played were impressive, all the same style of music, folk punk, but I really enjoyed all the bands. My favorite of the opening bands was Drawn a Blank, they had good energy and sounded great, they really had everything together. Landmines were decent, Ninja Gun were pretty cool, a little more country influence then what I typically like but i still enjoyed them, they are really different, check them out if you like Fake Problems.
The show ran really late, Crime in Stereo didn't go on till past midnight, but the show didn't feel like it was dragging on too long, it was a good time. People packed in for when Crime went on, not many people singing along or anything, but everyone was having fun, the band seemed to be into it. I basically went from disliking this band a lot to really liking them within a month due to their awesome live performances. They are about to tour with Have Heart so I know a lot of people will be checking them out on that, then they tour with strike anywhere, so make sure you see them when they hit your area. Here is what you can expect from their set on their upcoming tour:
XXXX (The First 1000 Years of Solitude)
Third Atlantic
Long Song Titles Aren't Clear Anymore
Bicycles For Afghanistan
But You Are Vast
Abre Los Ojos
Almost Ghostless
Small Skeletal
I Stateside
