I want to buy a new laptop

and be able to upload about 100 CDs and my 1000 songs on my ipod without the thing becoming incredibly slow

anyone have a huge music library on a laptop?
any recommendations?

You can get laptops with 100 GB hard drives no problem now. And if you start to fill that up, just by an external hard drive and problem solved.

macbook pro, powerbook or ibooks are all very very good. i'd most definitely look into those. (for $1500, i'd absolutely recomend giving the powerbook a shot)

My Mactop has my entire library of about 20Gb on, which is fine for me.

ext. hard drive. ive got a 250GB and it works wonders.

the amount of music you have on your harddrive shouldnt effect the speed of you computer. just make sure you have plenty of RAM

I have a Seagate, and I've been really happy with it.

edit: mine's a 2nd internal HD, but I'd assume their externals are good as well.

I have a Maxtor, and it's my second one, the first one just died, but they sent me a new one with out much hassle.
