Because it American cds cost more money in other countries. Same with UK bonus tracks. If there are more tracks on it, maybe people will pay the extra money to buy an AMERICAN cd.

because if i wanted to buy a foreign cd, it would cost me extra money. its not my fault that they like our music. and why should i have to go through the extra effort of doing that when people in foreign countries get it all layed out and served on a silver platter, just because they choose to spend the extra money and listen to american music?

It's not that it's that american music is expensive, it's that copies of albums pressed by Japanese record labels cost more (in Japan) than American imports do in Japan. American bands, therefore, usually put bonus tracks on the Japanese versions so that the people there will buy the Japanese version with extra tracks for a little more money over an American import which is cheaper but lack the bonuses...it's really just a matter of bands not wanting to screw over the Japanese labels that ultimately give them promotion/fans in that country.

Average cd in the uk is £10 which is about $17 or $18. when i went to the states on holiday everything was cheaper,(food, clothes etc) so if we hav to pay more for a cd then we should be treated to a nice lil bonus track here and there!!!!!!!!!!

another reason which people haven't touched upon yet is touring. bands release special editions/bonus tracks in such countries as UK/Japan because they know that they aren't constantly touring like they do in the states. Thus, it's a nice gesture to their fans that live far away. stop the complaining guys, geez.
