It's a TV show, just watched the first 3 mins and it doesn't look as bad as Twilight... but I heard it's similar. Anyone watch it? Anyone read the books?

i watched the pilot and wasn't that impressed. it wasn't terrible though, and at least the main girl in this show is a lot better than kristen stewart. and as much as i dislike the twilight movie, this isn't a ripoff. the vampire diaries was published in 1991, i believe. of course, they are now deciding to make it a tv show because of the twilight success though.

if you want vampires true blood is the way to go. this show is pretty dumb, not much better than twilight, but it has a slight advantage
they played way too much music (maybe to cover up and appeal to more of an audience), and ruined alot of good songs puitting them into something like this..
this show is trying too hard with both the music and the style, theres no way a whole highschool dresses like that

haha, none taking. we all got our opinions. I do admit the first few seasons where repetitive with monster of the week. But the last few seasons have been amazing, slowly bringing in superman stuff. its tough if you haven't been watching. And I am sad to say this may be the last season, or just one more after this.

Yeah the pilot was pretty weak, but things started to get a little better on the second episode. Damon is definitely making things a lot more interesting. That Ian Somerhalder is pretty scrumptious.

this show and Community literally make me and my roomie's thursday nights. I'm pissed it's going on ANOTHER little hiatus.

I think the best thing though is the fact that my whole family's gotten into it including my dad and brother. last week I went over to my parents' and my mom was cleaning up from this soccer pasta feed she hosted and she's just like "god, I'm missing Vampire Diaries. I need to go flip the channel and get a quick glimpse of Damon so I have something to live for." I was still laughing about it like five hours later.
