That sucks! If you watched the game, he had a killer first-half, then fat Algae Crumpler fell on his knee! Ahhh!!

Madden Curse = stupidest thing around

Explain Vince Young, who had his statically best season ever the year after he was on the cover. Are there exceptions to a curse that isn't even 10 years old?

McNabb gets hurt every year...that's not a curse...Shaun Alexander had 400 touches in 3 straight season, he was due for an injury.... Marshall Faulk had just turned 30 when his breakdown occured...along with just about every back ever. And last I checked in 2 of the last 3 seasons Polamalu has missed significant time with injuries, and played most of last year injured, as is the nature of his style of play (recklessly throwing his body at people).

I'm willing to bet that you could put anyone on the Madden cover...a back-up D-line men even...and statistically speaking they probably have a 50:50 shot of getting hurt and missing a game and allowing the "Madden Curse" to continue. And those odds only go up when you put a guy who had an MVP caliber season the year before (what gets you on the cover), whose team probably went deep in the playoffs, and is due for a fall-off anyway

No, its a stupid myth that allows dumb fans to make even dumber comments...what's worse is ESPN will spend 5 minutes on all their shows talking about it too, rather than discussing something that matters. I'd much rather everyone spend that 5 minutes explaining how Bironas got his kick blocked...or why Big Ben looked off his check down option about 20 times in the game...you know, things that affect the outcome.

I mean, unless you think Jessica Simpson and Romo's Los Cabos vacation is also a topic that should be genuinely discussed...

or eddie george. or ray lewis. or favre last year.

there are more exceptions to the curse than there are not. people that talk about it and believe it just come off as fucking silly.

it's so fucking ridiculous and incredibly annoying.

the sport involved enormous dudes running as fast as they can and smashing as hard as they can into each other. people are gonna get hurt, whether they're on a damn video game cover or not.

I was just going to come in and say that Favre never got hurt last year and he was on the cover of Madden 09.

To be fair...VY did not deserve to be on the cover and did not face the curse because he is a bad QB already.

The Madden Curse doesn't exist. Technically, if it did exist, Favre broke it last year.

How did he break it? He blew it the second half and took the Jets from being one of the best teams in the NFL to not even making the playoffs. I don't think the "Madden Curse" means that a player gets hurt, just that the player will have a bad season, performance-wise, health-wise, etc.

There is no Madden Curse you cum stains why is this still being discussed and clarified to what the Madden Curse is?

You just described every player who has ever had a "career" year...by your definition, the "curse" affects at least 20% of the NFL players every year without them being on the cover. Cause really, how many players have ever had back to back MVP or career years in the NFL?

Going back to your career averages (like most Madden cover guys do) is not a "bad season"...its only bad in comparison to the fluke of a year prior
