A review with photos and setlists (http://intunemusiconline.com/2009/08/30/virgin-mobile-freefest-columbia-830/) of the Virgin Mobile FreeFest at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland, on August 30, 2009 featuring Blink-182, Weezer, Public Enemy, The Hold Steady, Taking Back Sunday, Wale, Holy Fuck, and other bands:

Brief notes..

Top performances:
1 - Weezer
2 - Blink-182 (played "Blow Job", not sure they've done it yet this tour?)
3 - The Hold Steady (new song.. "Separate Vacations")

Public Enemy was fantastic minus Flava Flav's constant chatter.

Wale was surprisingly good.

Holy Fuck was awesome.. if they performed at night it could have been a lot more fun.

Taking Back Sunday was lame and the setlist was awful.

Good review -- I agree with everything that was said.

I'd rank the bands: 1.) Weezer 2.) The Hold Steady 3.) Blink 182

Unfortunately, I also missed The National and Franz Ferdinand.

The Hold Steady's new song sounded great, I wonder when we can get a recording.
