Pujols said his theatrics in Pittsburgh had been a reaction to Perez making a celebratory dance after retiring him in the previous at-bat.

"I got real upset and I told the guys, 'I'm going to hit the next ball and I'm going to hit it a long way, but don't look at the ball, look at where the bat is going to land,' " Pujols said Tuesday.

"I don't think I need to show him up again," Pujols said.

I think it's safe to start calling him Jesus now...especially if any more pitchers celebrate striking him out

I heart Pujols so much. I wouldn't be surprised to see at least 70 HRs this year, and the triple crown is going to be in the picture too (just as it has been for the last several years)

for the record, i think there should be a harder cap in baseball and i think george steinbrenner represents everything that is wrong with pro sports but if pujols came to the yankees, i'd be in a constant state of orgasm...

yeah i mean i understand people like the yankee's, and probably have for a good while, but if my fav team just had that much money to stack the roster, i'd never be satisfied with a world series win because it just doesn't seem like its earned.

yea. but as of late, karma's been a bitch and "we" haven't won since '00. karma's def. biting "us" in the ass for spending so much goddamn money. i'd rather have charlie hayes at 3B and be winning the WS than having a-rod and losing in the first round.

but am i the only one not seeing him break the single season HR record this year? i think 60, tops. he's not going to continue this pace the entire season. last year there was only one 50 homerun guy, and that took andruw jones everything he had to go on an insane streak just to get to that.

i don't think he's going to, or he has a very small shot, but i'd absolutely love if he did it.

You just took the words out of my mouth. He'll still have a slg % around .700, but he'll hit something like 57-61 HR's, 90 or whatever the # is for his pace.

good enough for MVP.

Load the bases or keep runners at 2nd and 3rd with 1 out? Tough call. I think Tracy made the right one considering Hernandez's 0-2 pitch was a strike and Pujols got the benfit of the call.
