Who the fuck are you joking? there's nothing mroe punk than buying 20 dollar scene band shirts for a multi-billion dollar store in the mall run by fake Marilyn Manson dolls and friends. It's nothing close the alternative equivalent of Ab&Fitch.

Occasionally you will find some cool stuff there. And no, I don't mean the BASTARD SQUAD tees. I mean like along the lines of TNTLLY and FB tees. Some of the music is admittedly legit. Once I found a Bright Eyes shirt there for 5 dollars. Awesome.

Do me and everyone else a favor and don't just randomly walk up to people at the listening station and rec a Skylit Drive. Never again.
Although how is the job in general? Minus the "OmGGGGzZXZzzz I adore this 400 dollar neon bracelet and this Brokencyde T-shirt. FreAXxxxaxxxsad1232242342." people.

Hot Topic only cares about whats popular and i can back that up, few years ago when Panic at the Disco first became big i went in just to check some stuff out and all they had was Fall Out Boy and Panic at the Disco merch. Then probably a few months ago i walked by a hot topic and saw a big sign inside that said something about the new brokencyde cd

LMAO, are you kidding me? I've been reprimanded by my manager for giving people my honest opinion about some of the music we sell, and by honest, I mean brutally. I know it goes against the whole "retail salesman" aspect of it, but if somebody asks for my opinion about a certain band or shirt of said band, I will say it. I am, nor will I ever be afraid, to call someone my age considering buying a Brokencyde shirt, a (and I quote an actual quote) "fucking tool". As far as the job goes, I've come a long way from viewing it as "omg I work at HT, best job ever". The co-workers I am close with I consider family and are probably the only reason I've stayed on (a little over 3 years), to be honest with you. Everyone else I've had to work with/serve can go to Hell, really.

I voted that I loved it.
Which isn't very true. I don't hate it, but I don't love it. I just like it because I can get band shirts there as well as CD's and vinyls. At my closest HT, they carried two copies of TTTYG on vinyl for 12.99. And they were the limited copies that they only made 1000 of.
The rest of the stuff they sell there (*cough* TWILIGHT *cough*) is crap.

Well the manager of the HT where my friend works is so depressed and lax about what they do it's really funny, so I walk in there sometimes, say hello to people I know and help them when they don't know a band. I've had people thank me for it. I drew so many epople away from Brokencyde shirts, to get them, they have to ask for open box stuff.

everytime i go to the mall i go to hot topic.
ive purchsed three things there my entire life. A green hoodie that I liked, a warped tour DVD from 03 that I wanted, and a flogging molly poster. I would buy more stuff if they had better stuff. I never understood why stickers, pins and posters aren't pushed more?
its kinda fun to look at the big wall of tshirts and notice how every scene band has the exact t-shirt design, and they've had the same damn flogging molly shirt for years haha, come on man.

lol, I think it'd be awesome if we ever got the Thursday "stupid scene shirt". I'd buy that in a heartbeat. And yeah, Flogging Molly's shirts all pretty much follow the same design: Green, w/ 4-leaf clover, ship, mermaid, skeleton, or beer bottle. Sometimes all of them at once.

I've never seen merch from either of those bands at hot topic. Ever.
Here there's 5 sections to the band wall. 1/5 goes to rap bands. 1/5 goes to movies/other tv show shit. 1/5 goes to scene bands (grr) 1/5 goes to good bands. I walked in there last week or so. It was a couple of Fear Before shirts, TNTLLY (subjective), CTTS, Alkaline Trio, Dance Gavin Dance, God Is An Astronaut (yeah, that surprised me...), and I think there was a Company of Thieves tee. 1/5 goes to a medley of illegible band names....

HT does things by what's in demand in the area. So if those bands don't draw many customers where you are, they aren't going to carry their merch.
I didn't vote in the poll because I neither love it or hate it. I used to get shirts there and still will if I can't find a better one anywhere else, but that's the only reason I've ever gone in there.
