is getting almost perfect reviews (http://www.metacritic.com/film/titles/united93). I really am anticpating this movie now. That makes me feel so low, though.

Wow! It got a higher score than Brokeback Mountain and Capote.

again, only 12 reviews, but not one negative one yet, and the lowest was the onions three stars.

Yeah, but this movie had a lot going against it. Nobody thought that Greengrass could pull off a dignified enough movie, but apparently he did.

thats like saying youd want to be in new york or in the field when these planes did what they did. it really is a disgusting society we live in when people can make money off something horrific the government did.

I dunno man. I thought the South Park version of The Aristocrats was one of the funniest things I've ever seen, so I have no room to talk.

I don't think there is anything wrong with wanting to see this. I don't feel bad about watching stuff on TV about 9/11, so why should I feel bad watching a movie about it? Especially when, so far at least, all reviews are saying it portrays the events as they actually happened (rather than putting a biased spin on it).

if the families of people who died on 9/11 are happy with the movie, then i dont care if someone is banking.

that was HALAROIUS. the aristocrats is one of the funniest movies i've seen. but you have to watch it right, not all at once or you'll get bored with it

I'm the only one out of my group of friends who wants to see it. They all say that it's "horrible" and "a bad idea". But, I think that if it is shown tastefully, that it has potential to be extremely touching.

This movie will definetly be overrated simply because of the history. Anyone who gives it a bad review would be called a terrorist.

I think the movie will be overrated and reviewd well because not many would call it a bad movie since it is relatively recent. I can forsee anyone who reviews it shitty being called a terrorist or somthing immature like that. I think reviews are hyped it and giving it good reviews just out of sympathy.

Unless you just thought it was stupid, but that's what I think anyway. Personally, I could care less for a 9/11 movie.

it's been nearly 5 years. and critics haven't held back in the past (pearl harbor) so i really don't think we're going to see less than objective reviews on this. besides, you're canadian.

Brownpants06

True but pearl harbor isn't nearly as close as somthing like 9/11. For instance if you made a movie on the war in iraq and trashed it you were called a democrat (or whatever, i don't really follow it, but i was thinking of fer. 911)

And yes, thats why I could care less, hah.

I agree with the overhyped reviews statement. Clearly I haven't seen it yet, but I'm skeptical that it's THAT good because no one wants to offend anyone on a touchy subject. You can't really compare it to other movies, except maybe some of the early early Vietnam movies. Pearl Harbor was made 60+ years after the fact, and besides, everyone agrees it was a terrible movie. This was FIVE years ago, and still very much a touchy subject.

I don't see how you can say it's being overhyped. The film, from what I've seen, does not have a huge blockbuster media campaign. I don't consider *legitimate* good reviews to be hype. By legitimate, I mean a review that is based solely on the film itself, rather than how the particular reviewer feels about the events.

went and saw the screener last night with a friend who works at the movie theatre here in town. when i first heard about this film, i had a serious problem with everything about it. i can safely say now that i was completely wrong. this film was unbelievable and above all things, completely tasteful and respectful to the victims. i know that there will be people who still won't like this film, but for the record, this is, in my opinion, a stunning film, and the best to come out this year. i woke up to a great review about it in the dallas morning news. it's the best one i've read so far. you should check it out here (http://www.guidelive.com/portal/page?_pageid=33,97283&_dad=portal&_schema=PORTAL&item_id=44557). i wish i could say more, but i have to go to work. i just couldn't believe how wrong i was.

I can't wait to see this. I love that they're pushing the envelope on telling a story based on a recent tragedy and now that there seems to be a consensus that it is tasteful, I applaud them for that.

It's only April dude. I'm sure there will be 10 or 15 more "movies of the year" before all is said and done. It was however in my own opinion, a very good movie. Other than criticizing the subject matter, I believe you'd be hard pressed to find very many serious faults in the film.

Nobody's ever gonna know what really happened inside that plane -- this is just one interpretation. Don't tell me this movie needs a disclaimer like the Da Vinci Code. Yes, rumor has it Da Vinci Code is gonna have a disclaimer saying the following is fiction -- pretty sad.
