Senses Fail (http://www.sensesfail.com) will record 15 songs with Brian McTernan, 12 of which will end up on the band's full length leaving the other 3 as b-sides. A tentative song title is "Crash Your Plane into a Barn." Expect the effort to be released around the end of September.

not just senses fail, but any band recoridng an album usually goes in an records more than they intend on putting on the album. usually, albums have particulars flows that the band is looking for and some songs could disrupt that flow, so they don't include it. also, some songs jsut aren't as good recorded as they may seem when the band first writes them.

Are you serious?

Have they taken a change in direction musically or anything?

i believe bands only get paid to have 10-12 songs on a cd, leaving the others for import releases, comps and re-releases.

haha well, when is it ever about the music? it's only about the monies, bitches and cars. nah, im jk, but most band's do this, look at tbs....they have never brooke 12 songs on an album, most band's will put more than 11 on their debut but after that they usually stick to 10-12.

Yeah I know.

Anyways, what's the deal with Heath Saraceno of Midtown. I prefer him in Midtown. Someone give me news on this confusing situation. Has Senses Fail found a replacement?

i was REALLY into this band a couple years ago. thing is, they didn't burn out. they faded away. ironic, isn't it?

about the $$ per song deal- shouldn't that depend on the band, label and contract? ten to twelve songs can't be a contractual standard when it comes to royalties. otherwise, that's a real throatfuck.

The reason there are only 12 and the rest are B-sides is for one simple reason. Across the Atlantic/Pacific, CD prices are rediculous, and unless they know theyre getting something special out of the cd, theyll just import and pay shipping...

that makes sense, i've noticed most cd's that come out now only have 10-12 songs. but, it seemed like before cd's used to have 16-18 songs? maybe record companies have changed how many songs they require for an album.

true. maybe they save a few so they can release the album again with bonus tracks.....sell more records.

You have to remember though, they never really had any good track names.

They aren't even bad. Get over it.

If Brand New had a song called "Crash Your Plane into a Barn," kids on this site would be like "Wow, what an awesome song title!" and jizzing allover the damn thing. (Don't get me wrong. I love Brand New, but that song title isn't too far off of something they would do.)

I'd still hate the song title if it was a Brand New song.

then again, Im not one of those people that go crazy over Brand New.
