Why would you be forced to see crap like this? I've happened to sit through I See Stars and Broadway sets before, I wouldn't spend 14 bucks or however much it will be to watch this generic garbage.

That was like seven bands though...this tour is only four bands, maybe a local band along with it.

Plus their headlining.

But i BETTER hear them play:

Project Wakeup
The Common Hours
3D
The Big Bad Wolf
Save The Cheerleader
What This Means To Me

You will in fact hear each of these songs, especially since they are headlining. I've seen them three times.

Anyhoo, this is a pretty good lineup. I've seen each of the bands before with the exception of Of Mice & Men (though I did meet Austin and Jaxin at Pomona TAF Across the Nation Tour). I'll be going to the San Diego date, mainly for We Came As Romans. Shame it is on a Thursday though.

I See Stars...eh, I'm mixed on them. Like people have said, they just play the same set over and over, which kind of sucks considering most of their songs on '3D' have been around for a long time.

Anyways, who wants to predict how many shows they no show on this tour? They've done it four plus times to Toledo and three times to Buffalo and it takes no time to find more threads with people going on about how they repeatedly don't show up to shows (or show up extremely late and promoters dont let them play for good reason).

Cool, dude. I don't like the lineup of that tour, sadly. But yeah, TDWP is totally the domination over Broadway.

LMAO, maybe you shouldn't go to shows with your daddy if he'll get pissy about it...

But anyways, if the three times I've seen them since easter are any indication, Broadway will play:

Intro (buildup/breakdown)
You Gotta Love That Southern Charm
Redeeming A Monster
the Prom Queen Has No Friends
I'm On A Boat
We Are Paramount

That'll probably be their set if they only get a 20 or 25 minute set time, if they get 30 then they'll probably play either Last Saturday or Meg Ryan Would Play You in the Movie. Since they're the tour opener and most promotoers will add a few locals, they'll probably get dicked out of a full set on a number of these shows.

They don't play Don't Jump the Shark Before You Save the Whale like ever.

They may play Same Thing We Do, but most likely won't Don't Jump the Shark.

And LMAO.

If you're too young for a show on your own, then maybe you should be saying words like fuck ;)

And if you're too small/weak instead, then maybe eat a little.

Alright, so I'm totally confused.

This tour is scheduled in Sac the same day as TDWP Noise and Napalm Tour at a different venue. However, under TDWP's Myspace listing for this date, they have listed Noise and Napalm FESTIVAL, with the bands on this tour listed as being involved. Yet the bands on this tour don't mention that at all.

Very confusing. Anyone have any idea what's going on by any chance?

Haha yeah. I've been to a wide variety of shows, including a lot in the hardcore scene. Everything from shows at big venues to small bars to house shows to VFW shows and shows with 60-70 kids in a hall that's about the size of a 2 or 3 car garage where the entire area is just a band playing on the floor in the corner and everyone else is dancing.

When Broadway played MI in July, they didn't play Meg Ryan... so I don't know if they'll play it on this tour... but they'll definitely get a couple more than 4 songs in. Probably 6.

I See Stars' set list will look something like this:

Save the Cheerleader
Project Wakeup
3-D
The Big Bad Wolf
Where the Sidewalk Ends
What This Means to Me
The Common Hours

They have been throwing in Comfortably Confused, also, recently... and they don't ALWAYS play Where The Sidewalk Ends.

As far as I know, the last time they played I Am Jack's was the album release show in Mt. Clemens back in March...

I've seen I See Stars and Broadway.

Broadway's crowd was pretty lame...just not that intense. They were trying to get moshing and involvement, but the people weren't haha, they were good nonetheless.

But I See Stars' crowd was totally insane. There was tons of moshing and constant moving, anytime a breakdown hit you knew you were gonna be in for something haha especially in The Big Bad Wolf.

DEFINTELY recommend seeing I See Stars live.

And the way that their singer and screamer switch off the piano to do vocals is really cool.

I'm seeing Of Mice & Men Thursday so I'll see about that!

Go see Broadway in Toledo, we'll show you what's up. Everyone here loves them and when kids like a band here it definitely shows.

the Devil Wears Prada play here about once or twice year (they're from Ohio) and last time they did the pit for one of the locals from here (the Sound of Glory) was more intense/crazier then the pit for the Devil Wears Prada. Then again, TSOG shows tend to be a bit crazy, there's even been a few incidents that led to cops being called haha

I've seen I See Stars about 9 or 10 times, so they'll AT LEAST be playing these -
3D
What This Means To Me
The Common Hours (this will be the last song they play, always has been)
Save the Cheerleader
The Big Bad Wolf
I Am Jack's Smirking Revenge
Comfortably Confused

Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if they play all of 3D minus Sing This! The album isn't that long...

We Came As Romans is always fun. Seen 'em twice. I don't remember the set list though.
Seen Broadway twice as well... they suck. Not stoked for them.
I'm kind of interested in Of Mice & Men, but ultimately, I'm going for I See Stars.

They lose respect from people, kids won't go anymore if they think ISS will no show again, promoters won't want to bring them back, etc, etc. Moral of the story, they anger fans, lose potential shows and have a good chance of having a smaller turn out at future dates.

They've no showed Toledo four times, Buffalo three times and if you look at enough discussions on them you see it's pretty common. They also show up late a decent amount. I've seen them twice, the first time they showed up extremely late to the show and actually almost got jumped haha. The other time they played two hours after their intended set time at Dirtfest after the show was supposed to be over

Of Mice & Men will definitely be playing more than just Poker Face, Seven Thousand Miles For What?, No Really, It's Fine.
They have a lot of tracks. They just aren't releasing them over the internet. But they will play it. Actually, there is one on austin's page, might be on OM&M's page too, It's called "YDG?!" And It's pretty sick, actually.

alright i had to chime in with my once again all-knowledge of Of Mice & Men haha.

they don't play No Really, It's Fine...like they never do..it's not even gonna be on their album. not sure why, i totally love it!

they play their A Mille Intro and then the song YDG?, then Pokerface...then one or two other new ones (can't remember!) and then end with Seven Thousand Miles For What.

right when OMAM started people weren't that into it...but by the end, it was like an all out mosh lol.

Even if you like I See Stars, they're extremely generic and not that good, I can see why people like them though.

And oh, they need to actually show up to shows as well, they repeatedly no show for shows. It's the funniest thing haha

ISS puts on a fun show, which is why I've seen them so many times. They've only bailed on a show once (for when they were supposed to play here) and it was when they were in between screamers/keys.

yeah, they are really into the crowd and try to have good clapping and crowd singing.

they are also a fave band...

but seeing the screamer and singer switch off is like really something..since their screamer really contrasts their singer!

I remember when they used to have to run to the AMP/Vocoder thing to switch off when the screaming came in, and then turn it back on for singing. It was always comical to me because I was like "what if he screamed with autotune?" They don't have that problem anymore, though.

I laughed at when they made the deal about cutting the use of a vocoder because once you heard the new CD you knew they produced his cleans to the point where it didn't even matter haha. The dude who does the screams now is pretty cool, he used to (might still do it, idk) book shows in the metro detroit area

If a place didn't allow moshing/crowd surfing, where would it say that?

Most likely around where the doors are because if it doesn't allow that it's usually a house rule. And chances are if it's a rule like that its in a place that's not a traditional venue (i.e. community center, church, and other makeshift venues).

Hah very true, since half of the bands on this tour will be on that.

I See Stars > WCAR

I totally agree with you that their songs are way more memorable. You can't even knock them about song structure since they do it on purpose and their not just clueless on how to arrange their music. We came as romans on the other hand does pretty much the same thing over and over.

I know, that bugs me. This is a setlist from them I would like to hear:

Intro/Redeeming A Monster
Meg Ryan Would Play You In The Movie
Last Saturday
Same Thing We Do Every Night Pinky
We Are Paramount
Prom Queen Has No Friends

11/20/09, 08:25 PM
You Gotta Love that Southern Charm and We Are Paramount are probably their best live songs, but Dont Jump the Shark would fit well. Toledo kids love Broadway and we also love southern riffs/breakdowns, so the southern breakdown and chant on Southern Charm is a great set opener after their intro. We Are Paramount has one of the best straight up breakdowns on the CD so it makes sense to end with it.

Broadways played Pinky live before, but he didn't sing Craig's part while I've seen set reviews that've said he sang Craig's part live before

i hate people like you who think that what kind of music you listen to determines what kind of person you are.

sure, it can be a similar personality...but if i had to listen to music that fit my personality, i would be listening to jack johnson and some other slow happy mellow guitarist guy.

just because you listen to a band that isn't that talented, doesn't have extremely intellectual lyrics, doesn't mean you are some idiot.

people just listen to whatever they think sounds good. i guarantee you in real life, if you were trying to be friends with someone who you thought was really interesting..and they were like "i love blood on the dance floor" you would not be like "oh. we can't be friends, i no longer respect your opinion."

like i think i've listened to blood on the dance floor a few times...whatever! it doesn't really stick out...but i just listen to whatever sounds good. some bands more than others, obviously.

some people just take music WAY too seriously.

Of course I take music seriously. Music is the soundtrack to every aspect of my life and hits me really hard. As it turns out though, I have very low tolerance for stupid bullshit in general, and that includes music that is bullshit and has no substance to it. Blood On The Dance Floor is basically the epitome of everything wrong with music. Sure, the guys who made the music probably didn't take themselves too seriously, but knowing that there are kids out there who genuinely love it makes me sick to my stomach.

i hate people like you who think that what kind of music you listen to determines what kind of person you are.

sure, it can be a similar personality...but if i had to listen to music that fit my personality, i would be listening to jack johnson and some other slow happy mellow guitarist guy.

just because you listen to a band that isn't that talented, doesn't have extremely intellectual lyrics, doesn't mean you are some idiot.

people just listen to whatever they think sounds good. i guarantee you in real life, if you were trying to be friends with someone who you thought was really interesting..and they were like "i love blood on the dance floor" you would not be like "oh. we can't be friends, i no longer respect your opinion."

like i think i've listened to blood on the dance floor a few times...whatever! it doesn't really stick out...but i just listen to whatever sounds good. some bands more than others, obviously.

some people just take music WAY too seriously.

Sure, the guys who made the music probably didn't take themselves too seriously, but knowing that there are kids out there who genuinely love it makes me sick to my stomach.

i mean, i take music seriously too.

i'm not just some casual listener to "whatevers on"...i really delve deep into the genres that i like.

but what i'm beginning to understand is that you can't really help what music you like. you can appreciate it, but some stuff just doesn't sound good to some people.

and nobody said they genuinely LOVE blood on the dance floor. (at least i don't think).

taking a second listen, they are pretty bad, similar to brokencyde.

i can understand someone not minding their music, but anybody who actually does love them has a very limited knowledge of music.

The second band had 3 guitars, one guy did clean vocals/keys, and the bass player screamed, but during all of the screaming parts he stopped playing bass. It seemed weird to me.

first off. whoever you may be: i hope someday you realize that music to some people is life. and bands like "blood on the dance floor" disgrace the true art of music, just like most rap artist and r&b artist these days. open your eyes man, these bands dont mean shit and they are deffinatly not fun to listen to simply because they make all screamo/metalcore/post-hardcore/whatever genre you listen to, look like a joke. plain and simple. bands like blood on the dance floor and brokencyde do not have a place in any scene anywhere. if you wanna hear that stuff go to a dance club or something. most musicians like that do it for the image and not the art anyway, which is really stupid.

not talkin shit here, not trying to make you look like a bad guy, not trying to be that guy who bitches kids out. just giving my opinion.
have a good day.

alright, yeah, i like the points you made runningfree.

to be honest, i had actually mistaken the song "i'm better on the dance floor" for the band "blood on the dance floor"...the first one is a pop-punk-ish song with some techno elements..which is what i thought you guys were like massively hating on. but after listening to blood on the dance floor..yeah, they need to seriously go away and i definitely agree with the hate.

I'm really glad that Broadway will be playing "Same Thing We Do Everyday Pinky". Such a great song. Not too thrilled that they are playing "The Last Saturday" though. Annoying song.

I'm also not surprised that ISS will be playing their entire album haha. It's a little strange that "Save the Cheerleader" is their last song though. The other four times I saw them it was their opener. Oh well :)

I think it makes for a better opener, since they get to play the cool techno intro and everyone (well I was) is totally like waiting in anticipation lol.

if you had actually made comments regarding what exactly was wrong with their music, then we COULD have a discussion on why or why not the bands are awful.

Yeah, but Greeley Estates comes out January 26th so that's a little comforting! Well a LOT comforting for me at least haha.

I'm pretty excited for this album. Go West was a very underrated album. Also, if anyone cares, they'll be touring with The Chariot, The Word Alive, and The Color Morale around that time, I believe.

One of the most overrated, generic bands I've heard of, no offense. I thought they'd go away but for some reason they seem not too.

I chatted with Garrett of The Color Morale when I went to Shred 'Til You're Dead on the 13th. Pretty nice guy. I asked him who they'd be touring with and he replied with those three bands.

That would be such an epic tour...with like some pretty underated bands!

I need to see Greeley in support of their upcoming album...I can't even imagine how amazing Seven Hours would be live!

It's going to be a good tour. The Chariot is fucking insane live.

Anyhoo, going back on topic, for those of you that went, how packed was this show? The venue I'm going to (Epicentre, San Diego) is pretty small and I'm not sure what to expect this time around, especially hearing about other venues selling out and shit. The other times I went there were to see Lydia/PlayRadioPlay and then another with just local bands. Nothing too big.

Just saw this tour tonight.

Broadway was awesome but I think Misha was either drunk/high/both haha. He still sounded amazing, wish their set was longer. So excited I finally got to see them though--Kingdoms is one of my favorite albums of the genre.

Of Mice and Men sounded even better than the last time I saw them. Austin couldn't move around much because he messed up his groin or something but they still sounded clean. Their CD is going to be amazing.

We Came as Romans was a bit sloppy but put on a great show. It could have just been the venue (El Corazon-Seattle, WA) that couldn't handle such a big band. At times all you could hear was a giant mess of static. The breakdowns and a few other parts sounded clean because there was a lot less going on.

I See Stars was surprisingly good and clean sounding. Wish their drummer had a louder kick drum, though. The heavier songs sounded the best towards the end of the set (Common Hours, Save the Cheerleader). Devin their lead vocals sounded extremely mature and talented for his age. They really surprised me.

Overall, this is one of the best shows I have been to, especially for this genre. Every band was phenomenal and I recommend seeing it if it is still hitting up your town.

As far as attendance for this show- the venue was about half to 3/4 full. I wouldn't expect a sold out show except in the mid-east US closer to their hometowns. Might be a good idea to get their a little bit early just in case.

ROFL Misha was drunk? Lol?

But yeah I would say the same review. This show is the best.

What's so funny about someone being drunk?

And on that topic of drunkenness, apparently I'm a freak of nature because I can get completely shit face and tear up a pit for all 6 bands at a show and not throw up.

Being out of it doesn't constitute being drunk or high bro.

If things like that were the case me and my best friend would be huge drug addicted crack heads because of our sense of humor and the way we act in public.
