This fight is going to be pretty great. Granted it is really just a warm up fight for Mayweather before going against Pacquaio but it should still be a great fight.

never this! boxing is crap for one reason: judges. did you see the malignaggi/diaz fight? that was so much bullshit. mma is so multi-dimensional, you don't really know what's going to happen. however, i DO still enjoy watching the crisp punching in boxing, rather than the looping, swinging for the fences stuff in mma.

Of course it's still difficult for me to let go of the idea that my boy RJ Jr. is still a legitimate fighter, so that might have something to do with it. I'm looking forward to this, I always like watching Mayweather. Did anybody else feel like some of that racially charged stuff he said that other day actually had some validity? The whole thing about the media covering up De La Hoya's issues seemed like a perfectly valid point to me. Anyway, I'll be pulling for Floyd, if for no other reason (as was already mentioned) than for the possibility of the Pacquiao fight.

In the US yes...worldwide, Boxing kills UFC.

UFC would never put a card in England the same night as an Amir Khan or Hatton fight.

UFC would never put a card in Germany again the same night of a Klitschko, Abraham, or Sturm fight.

i let emotion cloud my reasoning abilitities...i've told people (you included) that mayweather is damn near untouchable and that he makes everyone else look like an amatuer...but because he had been out of the ring for nearly 2 years i thought he might have lost a half step of the quickness he relies on, and in the lower divisions a half step for a pure boxer is professional death.....i think i made my prediction on unfounded hopes because i despise mayweather as a person.

in terms of pure boxing ability mayweather is the modern day ali/sugar ray.....but on a human level he (at least what he shows the public) is as shallow, ego-centric, and matierialistic as possible.

he's turning boxing into pro wrestling.....ali did that to....but he did it in a way you couldn't help but respect.

to answer your question i only watched the last undercard fight....but i've got the first 2 recorded on my dvr to watch tomorrow. the first fight is always a mismatch that doesn't last to long....how was the second one?

i watched that fight, and i agree.

juarez has always been a fighter that hesitates to throw a punch at the right times. on the lower levels you can get by with it if you posses enough powe,r but the top tier boxers will always beat you if you fail to pull the trigger on a consistent basis.

when it come to boxing....and life....and almost any other sport, you're always going to feel a bit short changed except for when the amazing and improbable happens....this is why we still hear stories about fights 30-40 years ago, strike outs 60-70 years ago, home runs 70-80 years ago, and.....well the only touchdowns i care about from years back involve montana, rice, and craig.......but my point is that sporting events aren't guarantees that something that you like will happen, just that something impressive will happen whether you like it or not.

i wish it had gone the other way, and i hate the message it sends to kids....but the prick was incredibly impressive tonight....so impressive that it became boring.

a great fighter dominates their division, not the big name coming up from a lower weight....unless of course your on a comeback fight after a 2 year layoff and hoping that you can fight another guy who's original fighting weight was 20 pounds below the one you've always fought at.
