As if seeing Have Heart wasn't fun enough, what made it even better was when I got back to Richmond (at 6am) I was able to get a few hours of sleep and then go see probably my second favorite hardcore band around for the first time in a about a year, it their home town. I was really excited for this show, and to make it even better, the show was only $3 so that was awesome. I didn't know any of the opening bands but they all put on good shows and I plan on checking them out.

Pushing On is from Virginia Beach, i have heard a lot about them and I kinda thought they were a hype band but they were really good, crowd was really into them. Steel Nation were really good too, a little different for a hardcore band, 3 people on guitars and no frontman but it worked for them, crowd enjoyed them too. I had listened to Get Real a few times and liked what I heard, they were great live though, I don't think they do shows regularly anymore but if they play near you check them out.

The place was pretty crowded for Down To Nothing, when they went on it was pretty much a hardcore party, less of a show and more of just people hanging out having fun and enjoying themselves. I really hope they start playing more shows again, one of my favorite bands to watch. I personally like their cd "the most" more then anything they have put out, but the crowd definitely liked the older stuff much more, during the newer songs there wasn't as much movement which is always kind of dissapointing to see with hardcore bands cause it happens so much, but I thought their set was great I wished that they played Serve an Neglect but other then that they played everything I wanted to hear. The lineup sounded real good too, I don't know if they ever have a definite live up but right now they have members of Trapped Under Ice and Bracewar, and the vocalist is in Terror, and they all worked well together. Anyway, I know they are done with shows for 09 but hopefully they make a strong comeback in 2010. Here is what they played:
Along For the Ride
I Can't Believe My Eyes
When My World Turns Cold
My Disguise
Save it For The Birds
Skate and Annoy
Unbreakable (guest vocalist during this song, was awesome to hear)
Conquer The World
Smash It
No Faith
Im So Lucky
Down On You
Home Sweet Home

Overall a really good set, more old stuff then what they did on their last tour, always a fun time seeing them, really nice guys too (the vocalist was at the Have Heart show too, its really cool to see people in bands supporting hardcore in the same way I do by traveling to shows).
